  • West Sydney Supporter Group Meeting #1

    mack

The FFA have announced the first in a series of community meetings to be held regarding the new Western Sydney A-League team.

The first is to be held at Mounties in Mt Pritchard on Thursday April 12th. Time 7:30-9:30pm.

The announcement mentioned space for 300 fans and is said to involve the first discussions around the team name, colours, logo and culture. More information will be added as it comes to hand.

    Getting to Mounties:

    Google Maps Link

    By Train/Bus:

Anyone coming from Parramatta/Fairfield/Granville/Penrith/Blacktown by Train: Take a train to Cabramatta station. The 816 Oliveris Metro Link bus leaves from Cabramatta has a stop right outside Mounties. It is the best option.

Another is the 802 Wesbus from Fairfield Station to Humphries Road. From there continue down Humphries Road until you reach to Edensor Road. Follow Edensor Road until it crosses with Meadows Road, walk down Meadows Road until you get to Mounties..

From Liverpool or further out towards Campbelltown you can either just go to Cabramatta and take the bus listed above, or catch the 807 Oliveris Metro Link bus from Liverpool Station. Leave the bus at the intersection of Meadows Road and Elizabeth Drive and walk to Mounties.

I'm glad they are consulting fans, already a step ahead of the Rovers bid, now lets hope they listen on some of our points.

This sounds like it is going along nicely. They have already organised this forum with several ex-players, administrators and fans to turn up. Mounties sounds like a good enough place for me. Looks like we might have a sponsor already in the works :)

It looks like it is a real democratic process. Even this tends to have its flaws. But for me there is no other way to do it with this club. Let's hope the majority are pleased with the outcomes.

Mounties isnt the only place getting a forum.

FFA will begin engaging with the community from next week, with 'town hall' style meetings to be held in areas including Bankstown, Penrith, Mt Druitt, Blacktown and Parramatta to seek suggestions over the new club's direction and details such as its name, logo and colours.

This is good. I was actually kinda worried that they were skipping the Fairfield area when those places came out. I've already registered my interest though. I'll get clarification from the twitter account and see what's up.

    Great news! Very excited.

I probably won't be there, I'll wait for the parramatta and bankstown ones. Can't wait to hear what comes out of it

Top stuff. Will definately try to make it. Hopefully a time after work at 7ish or something.

Tip: more parking around the back.

Don't know how this registration thing is going to go. Like they select from a pool of people that have registered?

Anyway, just tweeted them saying that 7pm should be the earliest that they consider to have this. Anything earlier will make it hard for many to get there on time.

Good opportunity to meet up with everyone also.

One of the boys called mounties last night and they didn't know much about this meeting. They better sort it out soon.
