Mack: I have promoted this thread to an article.

There's not much more I can add to the thread that this picture doesn't explain. We sold out over 15,500 members a month before the season starts.

    WOW , AWESOME NEWS

Who's going to tell the sports dept at 2GB.

Had a quiet word to the guys at Talkin' Sport on 2SM...Gavin Robertson (a key figure in the Skoda Fails set-up) was surprised and very complimentary.

My opinion of Robbo has dropped dramatically

He's okay...he actually had a pretty tough run after his cricket career went bung. He's gotta earn a living I guess, and unlike his old xenophobe mate he actually understands what the Wanderers have done and can appreciate football as a sport and not some kind of Dept of Immigration conspiracy.

Just think of all the people that may get supporter memberships now. Seeing as it is such a good deal maybe we could hit 16 500

Prior to memberships goin on sale I predicted we would do well to have 12,500 full members this season.

This result is amazing. Well done to everyone involved

He hopefully understands football because he played it. He was in my team a couple of years ago. Don't know if he is still playing somewhere else these days.

Hopefully this new blog post fits into this thread...

"...and you might find yourself humming ‘We’re from the streets of Western Sydney’ to yourself at the strangest of times..."

Dammit, that was me today :(

Seriously though (English student rambling ahead), the lyrical structure of the verses is fantastic. Really balanced and regular patterns of stressed and unstressed syllables, it's pretty much poetry.

And the reason it works so well, and the reason I can still pretty much hear the words waaaay over in Bay 5 where I sit is the lyrical structure.

I'd go in depth but... actually I might go in depth later on about why it's one of my favourite chants. I'm pretty sure it has a tune, but my recollections are mostly from the RBB on match-day just chanting - and... yeah. It just sounds great.

Why? Lyrical structure. Groups of stressed and unstressed syllables, and regular patterns of these.
