It is totally up to the individual as to whether they and their kids go to the game or not on a school night, no amount of chest beating by anyone should alter that fact.

For the record, our child is shattered that she cant go, she said to me last night that I have to chant "very very very loud as im in the RBB this week" and not the stands. She will be in bed by 8. She gets it. end of story.

pro tip: something said in jest, in a text based forum, should be followed by an obvious pointer to in being in jest

    Point taken :)

I've already had mothers whinging about training for their little 'uns running until after 7.30... oh dear :( They're twelve, not six :(

So, imagine this for a moment fellow Wanderer brothers:

By the end of the year we could be Champions of the A-League (maybe Premiers again too, with a bit of luck), Champions of Asia, on our way to the World Club Cup to take on the world's best club teams... all while East Sydney FC continue to fight with Le Cove, their own Management all whilst kissing the backside of a 4-foot Italian who sticks his tongue out like Miley f---ing Cyrus.

I'm just happy to have a team. I was expecting to still be the butt of my ESFC-supporting-brother-in-law's A-League jokes after finishing last in 2012/13 and struggling in 2013/14.

ADP has been a professional footballer longer than Miley Cyrus has been alive, so technically Miley sticks her tongue out like ADP. :P

Hows that for ESFC style sense of grandeur and delusion  :cheeky: ESFC fans probably think they have a right to be invited to this competition, after all they are a massive club don't ya know.

My kids are coming, 6 & 3. the 3 year old isn't going anywhere tomorrow so no problem there he'll sleep in and my daughter will be a bit tired at school but she'll handle it.

I do expect to cop criticism from friends and work colleagues for our decision to take them out. Which is understandable i guess its certainly not normal behaviour. I mean i get quizzed over taking my kids along regardless of school night or not. .

You know what I would do in such circumstances.... tell them to mind their own ***** business.... or get your kids to tell them.

School happens like 200 days a year.

ACL home matches: 3 times a year.

Therefore, it's rational behaviour to take kids to ACL games!

Arithmetic sounds like a Croatian-Australian Wanderers player if you say it right. Just tell them it's a maths-based excursion. Going to see Popovic, Milicic, Arithmetic and co take on Ulsan Hyundai.

    That sounds familiar..  :good:

This is something we all do as a family so we plan on making the most of it for as long as possible. I'm sure our kids won't want to hang out with us at all in a few years.... make hay while the sun shines, I say..

That and we couldn't get a sitter and the wife and wants to go as much as I do - decision made. :xnod:

    That's true too.

People carry on sometimes wanting to stick their noses in.

Surely seeing kids a few years old at the football in summer (ish) is less offensive than seeing practically new-borns at things like New Years Eve fireworks on the waterfront and Christmas Carols in a big open space et al. But that's just me, certainly wouldn't say anything or give any looks, each to their own.

anyway, sorry continuing the off topic stuff.

COYW !!!   almost knock off time.

    So much this man.

I'm so happy just to have a club, all this is a massive bonus

Wasn't the three game passes members only, iirc?

No, members got priority access for a certain amount of time before it was open to public.

    • And if we’re losing 1-0 at 60 minutes, does he get game time?
    • We expect our coaches to have integrity and be honest. Criticising a coach for what he said is not criticising the fact he’s being “honest”. Someone talking doesn’t automatically mean it’s true, it doesn’t mean it’s definitely right. Talking without tact is often pointless, and this is where Marko sometimes lands.  Older generations love throwing the baby out with the bath water, then claim the younger more progressive generations are soft. This has happened every generation prior. Brosque has his view, and it sounds like he had been singled out when younger, but as an avid football consumer for the past 25+ years I don’t recall it being a frequent occurrence in the media. A lot changed after Beckham was pilloried post to post by media for the red card against Simeone and Argentina. **** started changing after that, coaches weren’t airing grievances in the media anywhere near as often. Over the past 10 years, where social media abuse has ramped up, where players now have an online presence and a semi-direct link to any “fan”(/possible asshole), there has been an ever decreasing amount of openly negative comments directed at named players by their coach/manager. That is what decent managers do, Marko proves he doesn’t fall into that category for multiple reasons.
