Lyall Gorman announces date for club details to be released.

In a move which should assuage some of the ill feeling towards the lack of information released by the new club, Lyall Gorman has today released a statement confirming that the name, colours and logo for the new club will be released in a major event on the 25th of June.

One confirmation was that the name will have Western Sydney in the title.

This is a place holder name for the purposes of releasing the draw, but I can confirm that our new club will have the term “Western Sydney†in the title as the majority of fans surveyed expressed a desire to have those exact words included.

It gives me great pleasure to confirm that the official club name, club logo and club colours will be formally announced next Monday 25 June. I thank you all for your support and look forward to an exciting season ahead.

Okay, not trying to be a Party Pooper. But has anybody thought of what might happen if the name released ISNT Wanderers?

Would anybody get their panties in a twist and walk away if it was say Western Sydney Athletic FC?

As an outsider I don't mind either and certainly all signs thus far point to Wanderers(No such thing as a secret in Australian football circles!)

i wouldnt be devastated as i would happily take west sydney wanderers or athletic as back-up. anything else it would be pretty devastating, but it should be western sydney wanderers after their website mix-up the other day.

MB, phone a friend that has foxtel.

Most my friends are poor lol... I'll probably have to work anyway, I need the money so I can afford foxtel.

I peed FOX off when I bought this house. To many repeats, just not worth the money. I watch everything online now. Watched Parra beat the Panthers tonight. I pay $49 for ADSL broadband, 100GB download with no shaping.

I threatened to quit and negotiated them down to $66 a month for basically everything but the movies and the weird channels. HD with a multi-room add-on. Only got that for 3 months but better than nothing.

So thats $66 and more than one box? My last price I was paying, I had the ducks guts and 2 boxes (one in the man shed) and it cost $130 p/m

Yeah. Our normal price is $116. One HD in the living room, one multi-room non-hd out in the converted garage house for my sister.

    Still a lot eh.

It is, but I see it as the price of being a football fan in this country. We pay for it, but we get better coverage of our league than the poms do of their league. We get ALL games live and uninterrupted.

Frankie, 5 kids, mortgage. For me, it's internet or Pay TV.

Over the net I read the papers, chat with you guys, download/watch movies, watch all the a League and Socceroo games, ACL etc etc. If PayTV was half the price, I'd probably have it again.

This is one of the reasons tho that FFA need to seriously ensure some FTA coverage.

That's fair enough mate, I wasn't being judgemental. I'm lucky I have a bit more disposable income I guess (no kids or missus to support) I reckon I'd go out of my mind with no Foxtel, fair play to you.

Oh mate, no offence taken. I could afford it if I wanted it. I'm more interested in smashing the mortgage. Plus, the minute I got that the missus would be getting manicures and crap each week.

Is it any better if you find a bird who likes football?

If anyone's in the city tomorrow, I'll be watching the announcement at Cheers Bar (Football pub on Liverpool St) If anyone wants to join.
