  • Wanderers 2014/15 Membership Renewal Launches Friday 18th

    mack

The Western Sydney Wanderers will launch the 2014/15 Membership campaign on Friday the 18th of July.

Update: Membership Portal has launched via wanderland.com.au

The club announced the launch on Friday the 11th, including numerous changes and upgrades from last season. A link to the Wanderers news page is here. The new changes and upgrades include:

    • A loyalty initiative for renewing members that includes reduced membership costs as well as memorabilia for foundation members.
    • The introduction of a new payment option, where in addition to typical upfront payment, the new option for payment in monthly instalments over 10 months.
    • The introduction of a seat resale program to enable members who cannot attend matches to forgo their access to a match so their ticket can be on-sold, with rewards for those members who give up their seat.
    • A new online membership portal that includes the ability to forward a membership to selected people, a membership selector and online interaction with the membership team.
    • A new Junior Supporter membership package that includes various pieces of merchandise.
    • The final major development is that after a large volume of complaints about members not being able to pick-up their membership packs last season, this season they will be sent through the post.

Prices for this season are increased over the first two seasons. Foundation members have a slight rise in non-Red & Black sections, with family memberships costs also increasing. The cost increase for a Red & Black membership is higher in comparison to the other sections of the ground. New members in all sections are higher again compared to renewal costs for foundation memberships.

    • Red Memberships increase from $312 to $320 for foundation members and $335 for new members.
    • Black Memberships increase from $240 to $250 for foundation members and $285 for new members.
    • The White as well as the White & Black memberships increase from $195 to $200 for foundation members and $215 for new members.
    • Red & Black Memberships increase from $195 to $220 for foundation members and $235 for new members.
    • Supporter & Out of Towner memberships are unchanged.

A full size table of the pricing is available at this link.

Renewal will be open for 1 month from Friday the 18th of July through to the membership renewal deadline on Sunday the 17th of August. Supporter memberships will also be on sale from Friday and supporter members will be placed onto the ticketed membership waiting list while also getting access to the usual Football Family benefits.

Despite this forum being a welcome place to discuss memberships in 2014/15, specific enquiries should be directed to the club membership team through the club membership email address which is:

    • memberships@wswanderersfc.com.au

I look forward to renewing my membership on Friday and am sure that the club will eclipse the 16,900+ members from last season.

Living interstate for most of the first 2 seasons there was no point buying a seated membership...

Man that was a bad decision, I know I'm on a waiting list but I don't hold much hope of an upgrade.

I'm still in the first 10,000 for foundation members though, that's got to count for something right !

I think the RBB section should be discounted because these are the people who stand in rain, hail and 40 degree heat and work hard creating that famous atmosphere for all of us to be inspired. But I think this area should be controlled by the an elected RBB representative group in collaboration with the club etc. This would give some capacity and power to have non-participating active members an opportunity to participate or relocate.

I agree that the RBB section deserves recognition but maybe not financially. If you asked any RBB member if they would pay $20 more per year than the cheapest tickets and ensure that non-chanters aren't there, most would pay the $20. This won't stop the problem but it would reduce it.

Recognition of active fans in the active areas can be provided by the club in other areas or other means.

I think that RBB season ticket holders already have extra 'privileges'

Isn't one of the new FFA regulations that active supporter season ticket holders are the only ones that can buy away active tickets?

I think that you should be able to get a season ticket.  The mass demand last season was due to a 10 game winning streak the season before.

Last season there wasn't the same amount of hype as the previous season, and the penultimate game at home was in front of a 10K crowd in the champions league round of 16.  I think that you will be able to get a season ticket where you want, and if not at least your second choice

Would be interesting to see how many people renew.

Out of 16K season ticket holders, I would guess maybe 12-13K will renew.

And any new people coming along would be a bonus

Can't wait to sign up for another year.

Is anyone else worried about the lack of direct communication from the club. We've all seen random Facebook posts etc but the lack of direct communication through a mail out or email is a bit concerning. Is this a sign of things to come with the new owners?

    It's nothing new.

In this age of technology, I do find it disappointing that our club doesn't utilise email, text messaging, Twitter, Facebook, or even these forums, as well as they could & should.

Some clubs are absolutely brilliant with that stuff. Other clubs are, well, not so brilliant with it.

I'm relieved to see that others have received nothing! Just today I checked with a mate and he said that he had received nothing, whereas I am now receiving a lot of emails from the Jets that suggest that I'm on their system as a member... I was a tad worried that something strange had happened with the Wanderers' move to a new ticketing system, but I'll hold off on contacting the club until others confirm that emails have in fact been sent by the club.

Not sure if Im looking into it to much but just worried that there is a little bit of arrogance thinking that we are going to get huge memberships each year and never need to promote or advertise them.

For most of us on the forum we live and breathe Wanderers and will sign up every year no matter what but those fans who aren't diehards without a push each year they might not keep coming back. At the end of the day like it or not these fans are just as important to the survival of the club as the core support.

I'm pretty sure as long as you are a member, you can buy active tickets.. You don't have to have a Rbb membership.

Maybe the club would be happy with that as they can promote casual attendance with some confidence. i.e. theres 3000 tickets available each home game

Personally i cant see that many people not renewing. We seem to think that there were a number of people who didnt turn up to a lot of games creating the empty seats whereas i think it would have been a case of many people missing one or two games.

i gotta say though i'm not feeling the hype or vibe like last season , I'm not a face book or twitter user so i could just be missing out.

We really needed to upgrade the NT for this season i think to take us to the next level, get us in the papers that sort of thing.

Anyway me and my misses will be in again for another year in the NT all though my dodgy knee may not be sharing the NT love

Is there any likelihood of a system being implemented where your ID is checked alongside your membership pass this season??

This is a very important question.

Guys has there been any discussions about photo  ID being allocated to a membership. I would think not but ya never know.

I know of 2 families  1 x 2 members in red section and 1 x family of 4 in Black who will not be renewing.

Yeah, a family of 5 I know will not be renewing this season either which is a bugger for me as my son loved playing around with their kids and he asks if they will be there. But he is a sociable lad and makes friends in seconds, which I like as doesn't need to sit with his old man the whole time.

Didn't get a reason why, just heard via the wife they are not doing it this year. Do these people not realise that once you become a WSW member it is a life time commitment lol If I tried telling my son we were not renewing he would go freaking mental!!!!!

Wife was in touch with them so only got second hand info and no real reason. I know as members they were picking and choosing games, especially towards the end. Who knows, maybe valid personal reasons why they cannot commit this year. Shame though.

Just a feeling that those on a waiting list should be able to get in to the memberships club if they want to this year.

I think its great that foundation members get that discount, BUT

I reckon people who didn't / couldn't get membership first year but then have done so and keep rewnewing for a certain period (say three years) the discount kicks in for them too.

well, something along those lines .......

That game against Adelaide when the match was delayed. A half full Bay 56 and even less in the adjacent bays.

They are the ones in the RBB that will be there no matter what.

I had to bury my phone in rice overnight to get it working properly after that.

I think membership will be pointless this year unless you plan to travel, we had a pretty shocking run in terms of weather this time around so a lot of people will say **** it. God bless this rotten economy too

When people start receiving the email with Membership info, I have no doubt it will be mentioned in here.

If no one has mentioned receiving an email in here yet - no one has received an email.

    There is no link to renew yet, but I'm sure it will be released once Membership renewals start;

    • you'll get an email,
    • it will be on the club's website,
    • they will tweet the link,
    • they will post the link on their facebook, and
    • someone will post it in this thread.

    Chillax all! :)

They are not coming as they found it all too hard to make a regular commitment. So no probs. They will just renew and they will sell the memberships to some friends who want their seats from what im told

So who knows. But doesn't look like these memberships will go into the pool to be reallocated to other members wanting to relocate.

I wonder how much this will happen elsewhere?

With this sort of thing and the seat buy back, I'm guessing a lot of ppl, who may not have renewed due to lack of interest or attendance, will renew just to keep an in demand membership going at no, or little, cost to them (perhaps even a profit if onselling),,,, probly not the best result - certainly not for those 1000 members on the waiting list...
