Wanderers Call Member Vote On ACL Venue

    mack

The Western Sydney Wanderers have called on their members to vote on the venue for their Asian Champions League Final home leg.

Members have been contacted by email and asked to log in to the membership site to vote by 12pm tomorrow.

The unusual step could be part of an appeal by the club to convince the AFC the match should be played at Parramatta Stadium rather than alternative venues such as the Sydney Football Stadium or ANZ.

Reports are that @Alhilal_FC have been allocated 1976 tickets for the ACL final. #GoWanderers #الهلال @WSWKSA

Well that's ok... they will be 38 years too late for the 1976 final, those tickets wont do them much good :good:

I'll get me coat................. and flares .......

WSW people might just end up buying those tickets anyway...

Not unless Al-Halal pulls a Guangzhou and pre-purchase all those tickets.

I suspect that might be the case. There will be enough away ticket demand from away supporters based in Australia to fill that allocation, some will come from Melbourne, Brissy, Auburn and so on....

They will want to make sure they get a fair crack at the away allocation first.

    10%?

Closer to 9.2% of capacity, which is 21,487.

I'd assume they've been given 2 or 3 bays of southern end & the end bay or bay & 1/2 of both terrace & stand on Eastern side.

Seated capacity is 20,741.  AFC don't allow standing areas to be used.

3000 people vote. 70% say Parramatta. Awesome well done.

Why in sweet merciful **** is ANZ second choice? How is this possible?

no need to be so aggressive just because someone has a different opinion to you. maybe they just wanted to be able to easily buy tickets, be able to bring non-member family and friends, and not have to travel as far, some of them may even have a family of young kids or grandparents that want to come to the game and they don't want to travel all the way across the city on public transport on a saturday night. normal things like that that only "real" football fans don't care about

seemingly it was the club's second choice too.

Second choice should be Sydney Football Stadium.

First and foremost, Parramatta Stadium is the right choice for the ACL Final and all WSW games.

I missed out on tickets as a member which I would accept being a small stadium for a big game. What I don't accept is that as of now, there are tickets available (confirmed with membership office) yet they will not sell one to an existing member.

I could have bought an (additional) supporter membership and ACL ticket for $140 last night before the members allocation closed or I can wait until the public sale opens at 2PM to chance getting a ticket.

    Why make statements like:-

'Please note that any remaining tickets will go on sale to the General Public at 2pm Tuesday 21 October and Tickets are strictly subject to availability.'

When they have no intention of selling the existing tickets to those that have supported them througout the ACL campaign?

How did u miss out on tickets?

Right from the release of tickets last Tuesday until Sunday Evening, members were still able to purchase 4 tickets together..

No idea, we went in straight away and four out of five is all we could get. As of Monday (before close of members window), I couldn't even get a single ticket. I went in this afternoon on the public release and got a single ticket in the away end but even that was a guessing competition trying to work out which section might have tickets. Trouble with the website is that it gives you no clue as to where tickets might be available. So I am trying Adult, adult member, adult alcohol free etc until the adult away end came up.

If they had a decent ticketing system and plan we wouldn't be having this conversation.

If it truly is an away end I will be easy to spot in red and black!

Yeah whatever happens next week, the big wigs around the world will be looking at wsw.

Watching the game on replay today crowd just looks amazing. Noise constant for the full game.

People all over will be buying into the club in some sort of capacity
