  • Wanderers To Play At Olympic Park

    mack

The Western Sydney Wanderers have confirmed playing matches at Sydney Olympic Park during the demolition and rebuilding of Parramatta Stadium.

While their home stadium is being rebuilt, the Wanderers have confirmed they will play approximately 8 matches at Spotless Stadium, with 4 matches at ANZ Stadium including both Sydney Derby matches. It is likely that matches against Melbourne Victory will be the other games to be played at ANZ, although it may include a match against NSW rivals in the Central Coast Mariners & Newcastle Jets.

The move will allow a much greater number of ticketed memberships to be sold, and also beckons a record breaking crowd for an A-League match with an expected Sydney Derby crowd over 55,000 patrons. The ANZ Stadium Twitter account has posted that the 2016/17 A-League season will be kicked off with a Sydney Derby match.

Parramatta Stadium is expected to take three Wanderers seasons to be built, with the new stadium opening sometime in 2019.

I'm same as Wanderboy roughly.  Above the RBB at Spotless.  Does it come with free gas masks?   :cheeky:   411 in ANZ.  Worse than Parra of course being a black membership peasant.  Not sure I'd be able to see there at ANZ as I've been before Won't be going to any of the ANZ games anyway.  It amazes me that ANZ is that big yet we're stuck behind the pitch on the second highest membership option.  Anyway.  Empty seats there for the season.

A stadium four times the size of Parramatta and we're allocated seats in a much poorer position. Weird!

No one has been allocated to level 6 so that takes nearly 30k seats out.  No Wanderers fans have been allocated to the away end so that takes about 10k seats out.  Only RBB and B & W have been allocated to the home end so thats another 10k seats not available to other Wanderers members.  The stadium members are entitled to 18.4k seats but some of them are in level 6 so say they take up 12k.  That leaves about 20k seats to fit in 15k Red and Black members and the 2k on the waiting list.

    And now the fun begins.

    Interesting.

    I got 216 and 119.

    Same.

    I should ******* hope so!

Another one for the 216 & 119 crew, clearly where the coolest kids are.

I will probably be missing a large chunk of the season though.

So foundation black member pretty much 1 bay next to half way up the back, moved to the goal line at spotless next to the away fans & on the halfway line at ANZ. Happy with one & not with the other, can you guess which one

I might ask if there is anything they can do, but my biggest issue is that they've split up our group of 5 which is my biggest issue, especially when one is my brother & one is my partner

Biggest issue with Black memberships at Spotless?

With all the best seating reserved for red, it has left some pretty ordinary seats for black memberships. It was never going to end well...

Im happy with the bay allocations at both stadiums but my wife and I don't have adjacent seats at spotless!

Glad to know I'm not the only one!!

Got mine. Very happy to be honest, especially with ANZ. Spotless we're a bit far away because of the curve of the ground, but otherwise not too bad. Just need to add a seat for my son now, hopefully there is a spare seat either side of us.

Stupid question - but were they linked?  I rang a couple of weeks ago to make sure

Anyone else from Bay 49 Wanderland on here? My group has been allocated bay 236 at Spotless - worst bay in the ground and next to the away fans.

Also looks like being foundation member counts for nothing - a group of mate that joined after season 2 have been alloacted much better seats.

I understand this is a logistical nightmare but to end up diagonally opposite your old seats, opposite the rbb and next to the away fans is very disappointing.

I'm a foundation member who was in Bay 50 at Parramatta Stadium and has now been allocated in 236 (next to the away bays) at spotless. I'm not happy but I don't think they could have pleased everyone with their seat reassignments. I have put in a request for a seat change to the upper bays above the RBB. So hopefully that is able to be accomodated. Otherwise it's something my group will just have to cop for one season and try again for a seat change next season.

Hopefully with our new stadium the seating configurations would be more suited to football and we can get seats like our old parramatta stadium ones because they were great.

The seating was always going to be difficult, no point in complaining or calling as only worse seats/bays are left but i'd just like the club to explain the process. like plenty of others, how does a foundation member with a membership number showing i signed up in the first 300 odd people go from near the centre, 5 rows back at parra to the goal line 18 rows back at ANZ and behind the goal line at soulless?

this, when I personally know of a couple that signed last year (GA), upgraded to black and are as close to half way on both site as black gets

its only for a couple of seasons but my concern is that we'll get shafted on the move back to parra, giving us like for like seats from soulless or ANZ and forgetting about where we sat originally

Bay 64 at Pirtek to 111-1 at ANZ and 249 at spotless. Pretty underwhelmed to say the least.

exactly the same, and ive heard the same from other 64ers, looks like they just grabbed that bay and shoved it in the corners, do they even football?

I have the same concerns regarding how things will translate across to the new stadium.

I have a fear they will turn the good black seats into red seats. I really hope I'm wrong.

I've bitten the bullet (along with others in our group) and requested upgrade to red.

No more new merch for a while as a result

I sat directly behind my niece at Pirtek, but for spotless and anz, we're rows apart, but same section. I called the club about putting me with my niece and they said just fill the form in and they will do their best. They said they will try and accommodate seating in the same area first if that's your preference, if that doesn't work, then they will ask where else you would like to sit based on availability (I assume). But their aim is to keep you in your section if that is your preference.

I am sweating on this, but hoping they are true to their word. I do know from chatting to the dude they are taking peoples requests seriously, so for anyone not happy/split from friends or family, fill your form in and get it back to the club asap so they can work on the reshuffle

on the form it says something about best seats available, what does that mean? i mean i know what those words mean but i dont know in the context of the form, with ANZ i would like to be at level 4 but on spotless i would like to be higher in my bay but i am just getting really picky at this point and really cant complain
