  • Wanderers To Play At Olympic Park

    mack

The Western Sydney Wanderers have confirmed playing matches at Sydney Olympic Park during the demolition and rebuilding of Parramatta Stadium.

While their home stadium is being rebuilt, the Wanderers have confirmed they will play approximately 8 matches at Spotless Stadium, with 4 matches at ANZ Stadium including both Sydney Derby matches. It is likely that matches against Melbourne Victory will be the other games to be played at ANZ, although it may include a match against NSW rivals in the Central Coast Mariners & Newcastle Jets.

The move will allow a much greater number of ticketed memberships to be sold, and also beckons a record breaking crowd for an A-League match with an expected Sydney Derby crowd over 55,000 patrons. The ANZ Stadium Twitter account has posted that the 2016/17 A-League season will be kicked off with a Sydney Derby match.

Parramatta Stadium is expected to take three Wanderers seasons to be built, with the new stadium opening sometime in 2019.

Moving from Bay 66 to the following:

Your seats at our new stadiums at Sydney Olympic Park are (Aisle / Row / Seat):

    ANZ Stadium: 109-1 / 13 / 22

    Spotless Stadium:  253 / J / 1090

Need to add my son on now. I guess I just wait until new Memberships are open? He does have a baby membership... considered an upgrade?

I think we are in the same boat Gaz (re baby memberships!) WE NEED A BIGGER STADIUM!

I have a red membership and I've been allocated a bay that doesn't exist at Spotless. Can I complain?

they are building a bay specifically for you at Spotless so in my opinion that is something you cant really complain about

    No!

complaining about seating allocations is the sole right of blacks! Now get over your red privilege! Us blacks have a system to fight!

Here's the thing.... there was always "Red" ... and "Red" at Pirtek!  :xnod:

Bay 7...was it?? - on the half way line upstairs??  Absolutely fair enough -first to sign up Foundation Members had those middle Bays, I'm guessing.

Perfect!  Out of the Sun, out of the rain, brilliant viewing of the action on the pitch and close enough to the RBB.

Then for us, for 2 seasons - same price as Bay 7..... Bay 48.

Which did have a lot going for it when the play was down the RBB end - close to the pitch, close to the RBB, close to Popa and the Home bench,

But limited sense of the overall pattern of play....you missed a lot if it wasn't down that end.  And it was in the rain..... many times!

Yeah yeah.... I know most in Bay 48 probably loved it there....

But an unbearable "supporter" from Hell (posted about before) absolutely intruded into our enjoyment of the game and we relocated last season.

So.......... then there was.... Bay 3 - upstairs, but down in the boondocks.

Right on an aisle :nono:  :nono:  :nono:  Three Bays from the Away end of the stadium, still Red, absolutely disconnected from the RBB - and pretty horrible to watch a game from, except when the play was down that end, and, OK,  it was great then.

So I guess what I'm saying to those who had those brilliant seats perfectly located within their Membership section, and who have lost that in the relocation... there were probably many others who didn't have what you enjoyed for those 4 seasons.

At ANZ and Spotless, I have no expectations of anything as good as Pirtek can be (always got good seats for every ACL game... so I know what they feel like -  both Eastern and Western Stands).

In fact, for us, there is a discrepancy between the email seat nos and the printed letter which will have to be sorted, so I'm not sure exactly where we are.

But as many others here have said, we'll be there every week, and will feel privileged to be part of the Wanderers continuing journey.

    Anyway....most definitely first world problems....

PS I don't think there's been too much unjustified whinging and "entitlement" on show here fwiw.  I think some have obvious reasons to be disgruntled, but it'll no doubt work out OK.

    :)  :)

the best seats i ever had at parramatta were in bay 1 i do prefer the 2nd floor though

    Down behind the goal??

How could they have been the "best seats" ??

You practically need binoculars to see the RBB from there.

And depleted as the RBB generally was, you can hardly  hear them.   :(

i honestly wanted bay 13, hopefully i can get bay 13 when parramatta stadium is re-built

first season was RBB, 2nd season was black and white, 3rd season was bay 44 or so and 4th season was bay 1 and i thought bay 1 was the best, imo bay 13 would have been the best

for ANZ i am at the half way line with 108-1 but on the first floor which i would prefer on a higher floor and with spotless i am 424 which imo looks like it will be a great view

my partner does not like being near the RBB so bay 1 was ideal for her but i do like being close to the RBB but not in the RBB way too much effort

yes i am, i am right next to black bays at spotless but yes i am red, i am not saying people should not complain i think there are very good reasons to be unhappy with some of the seat allocations i actually wanted to go from red to black this season but not going to happen, ANZ is a huge pain because of all the bays we cant use because of stadium members

i dont think people with White seats will be too happy with spotless since they are as far away from the action as possible, i know you are not the kind of person to complain for the fun of complaining i would hate to be the person who has to move everyone around though all i can think of right now is the food at spotless and now i am hungry
