    Western Sydney Wanderers Launched

    All the waiting, surveying, fan forums, meetings, online campaigns and discussion across the sporting world in Australia about a Western Sydney A-League club is over.

     

    Football Federation Australia today released the Name, Colours, Kit, Venue and announced several player signings for the club.

     

    I attended the launch on behalf of the site and here is a summary of what was released.

     

    Name

    The name is Western Sydney Wanderers.

     

    Colours

    Western Sydney Wanderers will predominantly be Red & Black, with White as a shorts colour and trim.

     

    Kit

    The kit for the Western Sydney Wanderers will be Black and Red Hoops, White Shorts and Black Socks.

     

    Venue

    The main stadium for the club will be Parramatta,. ANZ appears to be out of the running but that hasn't been confirmed. Negotiations with stadiums are ongoing. Same with locations for training, offices and the W and Y league teams.

     

    Players – The players signed for the new club are:

    Tarek Elrich

    Aaron Mooy

    Kwabena Appiah-Kubi

     

    Reaction to the announcements is positive, with decisions being made in line with what the Supporters Forum and what many of the members here at WestSydneyFootball.Com had wanted for the club.

      This was so interesting the difference in generational criticism. Listening to global game they did bring this up, Brosque said he thought nothing of it because it was normal 20 years ago to single out a player regardless of youth, but more importantly the comments Rudan said were not overly critical he pointed an area that Younis needs to improve in his game and did re-iterate that he is learning. But these days we tend to be a bit more protective on singling out players to keep that stuff in house. We want our coaches to be honest in media and then we criticise when they are, and I did take it as an area of learning for Younis when it first came out and I wasn't quiet sure why everyone was raving on about it. There is no doubt Pierias and Russell were more at fault for the goal but Younis should have been there to defend the far post against Kucharski.

      fmd, Rudan is all about making apologies for what he’s already said or done. Why not get a leader who can lead in the first place instead of falling into the traps they set themselves by shooting their mouth off
