    • Western Sydney Wanderers 2012/13 memberships will launch tomorrow at 1pm AEST. The club has released full details of costs and seat allocations.

Western Sydney Wanderers have released four blocks of seating for purchase as well as a non-ticket club membership.

They cover the 13 Western Sydney Wanderers home games to be played at Parramatta Stadium. It does not include the Campbelltown Stadium regional round match as that is controlled by the FFA and is not considered a Wanderers home match.

Red Tier - This is the top level membership equivalent to the platinum and gold memberships of other clubs. It comprises seating in the Western Stand. Some of the seating is upper deck goal line level and may be equivalent to the Silver seating of some clubs. Prices are:

      Adult - $312 ($24 per match)

      Concession - $175 ($13.50 per match)

      Family - $799 ($61.50 per match)

Black Tier - This second level membership is equivalent to the silver membership of other clubs. It comprises goal line seating in the Western Stand, as well as central and upper deck seating in the Eastern Stand. Some of this seating may be equivalent to the Bronze seating of some clubs. Prices are:

      Adult - $240 ($18.50 per match)

      Concession - $145 ($11.15 per match)

      Family - $625 ($48.00 per match)

White Tier - This is a basic level membership. It includes the South Terrace, with the Non-Alcohol Bays 78 and 79, goal line level seating in the Eastern Stand, and corner seating in the North Terrace. Prices are:

      Adult - $195 ($15 per match)

      Concession - $95 ($7.50 per match)

      Family - $390 ($30 per match)

Red & Black Bloc - This is the Home Supporter End located in the North Terrace. Prices are:

      Adult - $195 ($15 per match)

      Concession - $95 ($7.50 per match)

Family - No family membership is available for this section.

A non-ticketed supporter membership is available for $80 adult, $50 concession and $160 for a family.

Benefits for becoming a member include:

An effective 25% discount on retail ticket prices - Foundation Number Membership Cap - Free Shuttle Bus service from Parramatta Station to Parramatta Stadium - A white tier family membership includes two free junior memberships - Free Entry to all Youth League and Women's League home matches - Minimum 10% discount on all Wanderers FC merchandise on match days and in the online store - Minimum 10% discount on all food and beverages at Parramatta stadium - Minimum 10% discount on additional match day tickets - Exclusive Club Partnership offers including NRMA insurance and Nike - Priority booking for A-League Final Series matches.

The memberships will launch tomorrow on the 1st of August at 1pm AEST.

For Opinion and Analysis please click through to the full article.

    Analysis:

A potential omission was the failure to include specific Junior memberships across all the seating tiers however it is likely that concession pricing will apply to junior members.

In terms of benefits and discounts there is much similarity comparing Wanderers with Sydney FC:

    * Sydney FC have their newly implemented Free Public Transport, while Wanderers have the shuttle bus from Parramatta Station to the Stadium.

    * Each club have discounts with their respective kit sponsors. They both have the same discount on additional match day tickets.

    * Each club offers free entry to W-League and Youth League matches.

    * Each club will have sponsor specific discounts, the extent of their value will depend on what use each person can make of them.

The only major difference is the free public transport to Sydney FC matches. I'm still not convinced this is going to be a major part of the decision making process for most members. The cost to the club of providing this is part of each Sydney FC membership and is paid regardless of if a member actually uses public transport or not. Parramatta is also a much more viable location for driving to the stadium, with several large parking stations in the area as well as large residential areas that people can park in for free. The Shuttle Bus is a nice addition especially for those who are coming late to the station who want to get to the match asap.

Sydney FC have two sets of costs. The first is for "Loyalty" members who renew their membership before the end of August. The second is for new or lapsed memberships and is termed "Standard". I will compare the pricing for the Adult and Family tickets only.

    Top Tier:

Sydney FC have two top-tier levels (Platinum Plus and Platinum). Wanderers has one (Red).

Sydney FC are more expensive despite the loyalty discount. Their costs are $350 (Adult) and $895 (Family) for a loyalty bonus, and $395 (Adult) and $995 (Family) for standard pricing. The Wanderers costs are $312 (Adult) and $799 (Family).

The Wanderers adult pricing at $312 is $83 cheaper than the standard pricing and $38 cheaper than the loyalty pricing.

A Wanderers Family membership at $799 is $196 cheaper than Sydney FC's standard pricing and $96 cheaper than Sydney FC's loyalty pricing.

    Second Tier:

Sydney FC have a Silver Tier while Wanderers has the Black Tier. Again I will compare only Adult and Family pricing.

Sydney FC price their Silver membership at $280 (Adult) and $695 (Family) with the loyalty bonus and $320 (Adult) and $785 (Family) without the loyalty bonus. Wanderers costs $240 for an adult and $625 for a family.

Western Sydney Wanderers Adult pricing of $240 is $40 cheaper than Sydney FC's loyalty pricing and $80 cheaper than Sydney FC's standard pricing.

For families, the Wanderers pricing of $625 is $70 cheaper than the Sydney FC loyalty pricing and $160 cheaper than the Standard Sydney FC family pricing.

Basic and Home End Membership Tier:

Sydney FC have a Bronze Tier and a Home End tier, with slightly lower prices for the Bronze tier. Wanderers have differentiated the Home End with their White Tier in name but not costing. As most of the members on this site will be comparing the Home Ends, I will do so as well. There are no family membership so the only tickets available in them are for Adults.

Sydney FC's Home End costs $175 with the loyalty bonus and $200 without it.

Wanderers Red & Black Bloc end costs $195. This is $20 more expensive than the Sydney FC home end Loyalty bonus and $5 less than the Sydney FC non-loyalty bonus cost.

    Opinion:

There is a clear attempt by Sydney FC to hold onto the supporter base by offering major discounts for existing supporters. Despite this the Wanderers have comprehensively out priced their inner city counterparts even accounting for the Sydney FC loyalty bonus.

In the 5 ticket types examined (The Adult and Family memberships for the Top Tier, Second Tier and Home End), only 1 set of tickets was more expensive to get from the Wanderers. This was the Adult Home End ticket price and that was only for the Loyalty pricing that previous members of Sydney FC receive. Without the loyalty pricing the Red & Black Bloc is $5 cheaper than the Sydney FC Home End.

For people in the Home End it is unlikely that the $20 or $5 difference in costs will make one scrap of difference in their decision of what team to support. Many will have already decided to stay with Sydney FC or join Wanderers if this club better represents themselves or their area.

These costings are in line with my predicted costs for memberships and is on the lower side of that prediction. It doesn't not excessively discount the club and reduce the perceived value of the membership, nor is it overly expensive in an attempt to create artificial scarcity. I congratulate the club on their first ever membership drive and I hope we can have at least 5,000 members by the time the season launches.

If these are the final membership seating blocks then there is potential in the future for the club to expand the ticket types to offer premium seating locations for a premium price. The central bays on the half-way line could easily be split into their own tiers in the same way that Sydney FC have their own Platinum seating allocation. For the first year however the club has gone for simplicity in the ticketing. Get in quick on the Red and Black tiers if you want the best seats in the house.

I'll be buying my Red & Black Bloc membership at 1pm tomorrow. What membership/s are you looking to buy?

Yeah, actually you're probably right.. surely it will be around 20,000 though, first Melbourne Derby got 25,000 and Victory get fantastic crowds.

If Del Piero is there - it will be big.

That's true also.. all the Italians will go + others. Even people from overseas.. Italians love this guy, they would easily have a summer trip to Oz for the match, or one of the derbies anyway.

I doubt Del Piero will still sign for anybody in Australia. He can still play champions league football. I hope this is all exposed for the total utter farce that it is and Del Piero makes the right choice and stays in Europe where he should be. I know Liverpool, Olympiakos, Southhampton, Celtic etc have all been in touch with him. Although even if he does come it's not a failure either, I mean that's another 2 million dollars which SFC will be in debt. Aaah BEAUTIFUL!!!!

Make that 4 million in debt :xnod: They'll get a cpl of games semi full but then what'll happen to the rest? Leichhardt is in the SFC zone but honestly I can't see this being anything other than a financial disaster for the SFC. It will be good for the A-league in terms of viewers at least initially but one player like this never runs the show. We saw this when Fowler came, there wasn't a significant increase in crowd numbers within SFC games that he played at. Additionally he didn't get as much as this either. So we'll see. I wonder if Del Piero got shown the shirt he wore before he signed up? lol

any recent update at where memberships are at?

I'm sure we're doing better than the smurfs minus their fraud junior memberships scheme. This is minus any marketing what so ever from our club, where as the SFC have sent multiple letters, membership books etc etc pleading for members

As far I remember there was 17,000 at the SFC-Fury game and SFC's average for the season was 12,000, so that's an extra 5,000 people Fowler brought in.

Don't let facts get in the way of a good rant :) what ADP will do is provide a little more leverage on the TV rights and he will increase crowds in the shirt term it's up to S&ESFC to keep them.

The 12000 average would have included the fowler 17000 in that case (if it was even that much) and other games would have had more than that during the season i.e. such as the victory game thereby fowler net effect was nothing and it lead to the eventual bankruptcy of North Queensland as it hopefully will for Mr ADP's confused buyers. I'm a Liverpool supporter but I'm one to admit that bringing Fowler in wasn't going to achieve anything for the league as I doubt ADP will in the longer term. At least it gives ADP a nice holiday and a hero's welcome at Marconi. I wouldn't be surprised however if he left early.

I was at the Fowler game and I can tell you first hand that he had a massive effect on crowd figures. The amount of red shirts in the crowd almost outnumbered the blue. The reason NQ went broke was because they got no money from the increased away crowds and couldn't get the increased numbers to their home games.

I can hear this chant starting up already - Apia, Apia, Apia. :clapping:

Honestly, I reckon ESFC have done us a massive favour by signing this Del Piero fella.

WSW will recieve an immediate boost in membership sales and are likely to be guaranteed a full house for our Rnd 3 game at Parra Stadia.

    Remember Juninho?

Great players need top-flight players around them, to feed them and feed off them. Once the penny drops that ADP on his own isn't going to win all the silverware, the novelty will wear off. Millions down the gurgler . . .

I remember Juninho....and I remember Brosque having his best season ever playing with him because he finally had an intelligent attacking midfielder splitting defences for him to latch onto.

Good to hear the club was at this event...

And the Wanderers have a report of the day on both their webpage and their facebook page.

Bidwill has been in on the school ambassador program since day1 - thanks to GaryFish and all the work he has done on this program.

I went along to the day and had a good laugh at the place marked out for the Giants. It was a post with a sign saying "AFL" - and NO-ONE was there - lol! The Giants didn't turn up.

The two youth players that represented the Wanderers set up a mini field and played football with the kids. At one stage the Penrith Panthers players came over and played "real football" with them too.

I'm stoked that the local press reported it.

Strikers (pure finishers) need to a degree class players around them to give them the opportunities. ADP can create such chances on his own or with the brilliant midfield play of McFlynn .

The quality of delivery to a striker makes a very big difference though
