Paul - I've noticed many pundits who have praised Huddersfield don't seem to mention Mooy but the fans are absolutely frothing over him.

He's also completed more passes than anyone else in The Championship (177/202) and made the most tackles (11).

he really carried that melbourne city team, and now doing the same for Huddersfield - no wonder city are looking to offload Yaya.
The two issues I have with Mooy, is with City he went missing in the big games last year & secondly I worry how his body will handle 50+ gperformance ames plus NT duty. Don't get me wrong, fantastic start to life in the championship but I'm slightly concerned about his impact over the entire season.

I've rated Mooy since he started at WSW. I always thought he was under rated and under used. Only one blemish at WSW being his poor game as a sub in the GF. I also thought he may have gone missing as Prydz said - but by the end of the season he put that doubt to rest with excellent performances in pressure matches.

"Pasty Pirlo" seems to be going around facebook a bit. He was terrific against Newcastle. Seems to have taken his game to another level. Again.

I'm sure the eurosnobs might disagree, but maybe, just maybe - the best a-league players can cut it in europe rather well.

Yep, or to put it another way, Europe (especially England) isn't some sort of footballing utopia. I know ti was only a friendly, but Mooy bossed the game against England.

Or people like Pio who have far better records in Europe.

Ultimately if you've become a professional footballer, chances are you're pretty decent, and once you get past the very top tier (the big clubs), you should be able to hold your own.

Maybe that will shut the "Mooy goes missing in big games" brigade up.

I'd hardly call Leeds a big game, they are barely in the Championship...

A derby is a derby. We finished second last year and there's still people pissing and moaning on here about losing to the team who finished 7th.

Haha I was just having a dig. A little bait out there for lloydy.

I was going to have a chip at Leeds also, but to be honest I haven't got anything left lol I have run out of new material, been so ******* long you start recycling stuff!

I reckon Captain Picard is already a mad Aaron Mooy fan...here he is impersonating Aaron 40 years from now:

Seriously though, when you have Sir Patrick Stewart as a club fan there must be something good about your mob  :good:

Aye, he is a Huddersfield man.

Harold Wilson was also a Huddersfield lad, they are the only two famous people to come from there I think lol

Petition to rename thread "The Pasty Pirlo"

Aaron ""The Pasty Pirlo" Mooy has a good ring to it
Could we really compare Mooy to Pirlo right now.

Don't think so till he proves himself in one of the big Euro leagues

We can't actually take credit for the name, nickname first used by Huddersfield fans

Comparisons, Comparisons.

let see has he helped his team win one of the following

Serie A title, EPL title, La Liga title or Bundesliga title?

A-League title as Ono understudy.

Has he helped the NT get past a WC group stage?

I would rather wait to see if he will cut in the bigger leagues than start comparing him to Pirlo atm

astounds me that that the Huddersfield fans pick an Italian to compare him to than an Englishman😕

I think you're missing that the nickname is ironic. Nobody thinks he's at Pirlo's level

maybe when he get's older a slower he might fall to Pirlo's level.

The poor bloke needs to learn how to grow a beard as well
