Good story and yet again an example of how our efforts in Asia and back at home are really starting to change the attitudes of people about our preferred sport.

Whilst it was wonderful to see Ante get all the well-deserved kudos, it was way cool for Ron Corry to get a lot of attention...he sure as shite had a decent punch on him in his keeping days.

Just think, between RC and Ante there is over 80 years of combined experience when it comes to goalkeeping skills, and yet they are still sharing the need to improve. It's that kind of backroom stuff that puts the Wanderers into a league of their own  :xnod:

Covic was great today...

He didn't have a lot to do, but when needed, he did well.

ALMOST stopped another penalty... well he technically DID stop another penalty (not that it should have been a penalty!!)   :(

He should be acknowledged yet again for the legend he is!!!!    :xnod:

So if in the asian cup we're in the semi final, its 2-2 in the 119th minute and we have a sub up our sleeves and it's going to penalties.....

We could bring in a specialist penalty stopper like Tim Krul for The Netherlands in the WC...

Oh, but wait..

Spotted by son at park this morning who proceeded to play with friend and had to be the goalkeeper... Didn't want to go up and say hello and was disgusted with my wife because he wanted to wear his WSW top.

I appreciate the passion but sometimes an experienced player and especially as the goalkeeper you just need to settle and concentrate a bit and show some composure for the rest of the team, mainly the young players

I would like to congratulate Ante Covic on making his 69th A-League appearance for the club.

No matter if we're on top or bottom, Covic has always been there for this club.

Excellent pun in that second line ;)

What are people's thoughts on signing Brad Jones when Ante inevitably retires/moves to the epl :cheeky:

Hes rushing off the line and is getting caught out far too easily as of late.

You can blame the defence but really covic should stay in his 6 yard box and come off his line when he needs to.
