From now on every 27th August will be a feast day in the Wanderers calender, i.e. St Ante's Day. Those who observe the one true faith will be expected to use their elbow in a similarly exultant manner as St Ante did last night.

And watch this space for more feast days (e.g. Blessed Back Heel of St Dino Saturday, St Shinji's Day, St Jerrad's Day etc etc)

Covic sounds like he is at the top of his game. He wants to add to his already formidable keeping, and become an extra defender.

Bring on Wednesday night. And then bring on the start of the HAL season!!!

Considering what a mammoth ACL campaign and final match Ante Covic had. I think it is appropriate to change my avatar for one year. From one club legend (Tyson) to another one. Ante Covic..........................you are a HERO.

Maybe it's not such a sure thing Covic will retire at the end of the season now. The man looks as on top of his game as ever. Bouzanis might be wondering if he'll ever get a look in at this rate ;)

Ron Corry has a lot to do with this. To think Victards didn't want him a few years back and now should be up there in contention in front of pussy Matt Ryan for Socceroos.  :xnod:

We've all appreciated Ante over and over and over again since Season 1.  But for all our focus on Dino, Shinji, Polenz, Vitor,  NTS etc etc, maybe we've never FULLY appreciated how much of a rock Ante has been for us since the Wanderers first stepped on a pitch to play as a team.

Today, we all thank him and a recognise what a giant he has always been for us.

Just a legend of our club!   :good:

PS  Dino's Thread ... 48 pages...... Ante's Thread  4 pages

I'm sure little Ante Tony Jerrad Shannon Adam Nicholai Michael Aaron Shinji Jerome Mateo Tomi Dino Dino Dino Dean Youssef Brendan Antony Kitto will be wonderful.

I know I've missed some names. But we just won the ACL and I haven't slept. Forgive me

Does anyone know how to set up a Kickstarter campaign?

Maybe we can crowd fund the Ante Covic statue

From my extensive 2 seconds of google searching a life size bronze statue costs about 40 grand. Club just won 1.5 mill and will sell tens of thousands of Champion strips. They can afford it.
