There were a few heart stopping moments during his debut. A great performance from Jerrad.

Nice to know our #2 can step in, when required. I look forward to his next game (hopefully at home).

They were saying on the coverage that covic was probably right for the game but they weren't sure with the return trip to Perth would be great for a recovering groin.

As much as I thought Tyson deserved the 3 points tonight, can see covic starting mid week!

Covic Out!!

haha

How good was Jerrad! Great stuff, great to see him finally getting a run.

Despite his performance, I still think I'll feel a little better on Wednesday night if we have someone between the sticks who has performed for more than one game. I'm sure Jerrad's confident he could step in, and he probably could, but for our first game in Champs League I'd feel better with experience out there.

I think the back four helped a lot with avoiding any nervous errors (bar the one early on) by avoiding passing it back to the keeper as much as they normally would. We went long a lot more than we have been doing recently due to that. His couple of great saves late in the match will hopefully squash any doubts in his own mind and he'll be ready next time he's called upon.

Although he didn't have heaps to do (except a lot of goal kicks), Tyson was again great last night. Very happy to have him as Covic's #2 and hope he will get the gloves permanently in the years to come.

agreed, would actually like to see him get more and more game this season and ultimately phase out covic next season.

quite handy with both feet too.

I agree Guy, I said to a mate this morning that if Covic keeps having howlers I would be comfortable with Jerrad to step in for a game or two.

would be good if popa gives tyson for the rest of this & all of next season, a Schwarzer type role he has at Chelsea.

Covic plays the league games & tyson plays the cup games (ffa cup, ACL if we make it etc) and maybe the odd league game to keep covic fresh

i really think Tyson would handle the pressure and excel. plus it keeps him interested here at WSW so he wont go chasing after another club.

True, but we'll see. Though with a defence that is a shambles as Guizhou were, I can understand him wanting to boot it up there.

Not sure how reliable these rumours are, but twitter is firing up with reports Tyson will also be released.

All of these players being released, when are we going to see some signings???

Maybe Popa rates the U20 keeper that has traveled away to china and Perth higher than Tyson?

Or maybe Tyson won't resign because he can get a starting gig somewhere else?
