His first stint at the Wanderers career burned bright, quickly becoming a supporter favourite for his passion and goal scoring ability only for a rumoured falling out with the senior playing staff & coaches seeing him leave the club at the conclusion of his first and only season in the Red & Black. After a horror run for Iraklis he initially came back to the Wanderers for a short trial before signing a 2 year deal. His second coming lastly little more than half a season as he fell victim to Tony Popovic's notoriously short fuse and joined Andrew Redmayne in being punted from the club in January 2017.

Does it say why he is seeking a release?

because he wants to sign with the Western Sydney Wanderers, he missed our Mcdonalds

Bulut wants a Big Mac?

yes he does and that is the only reason why he left his previous club

Despite of what he might be able to contribute: he carries too much personal baggage.

For starters there is his criminal history. Then he goes to Maccas with his friends and ends up in the newspaper. Add his antics on the pitch and in locker room and it is fair to say that he'll never play for the WSW again. Not while Lederer and Popa are around anyway.

It took Saba much less to get the boot. Bulut will have to remain in exile. It's quite a tragedy really, but that's how its going to be.

Agree. He may have had some absolutely glorious moments with us last season when to be honest he was probably the only real good news story to emerge post ACL triumph. Having said that he will go down in our club and national history as a Kevin Kuranyi-like wasted opportunity. There is a tipping point for being a great striker, great player and great team man, and being a great striker but a selfish dickhead as well. Kerem has gone past that point. Sadly he will be a problem for anyone and everyone who tries to redeem him, but even worse he's pissed away his own future.

I think I'm with you both on this, but just want to check facts: did we let him go because (a) he was a bit of a shitbag or (b) his wage demands were much higher than Popa/others thought he was worth?

He gave us some great moments last year, but his attitude didn't cause the damage it otherwise would have because the season was already down the toilet. There's much more at risk this year, and I don't think allow him disrupt a potentially great season. There's no future in having him around unless he pulls his head in - and the Iraklis experience suggests it's still the opposite.

Good oil is it was not money, but the problems he was creating for the club with his behaviour and the baggage he carried with him.

The baggage? I thought the club were brilliant & didn't let his chequered past impact there decision to sign him plus stick by him after the Maccas incident. I don't know if the baggage played a part as much as we think...

I think it was a culmination of things:

- First we offered him a pretty average offer

- Second there was the bust up in the change rooms after one senior player got frustrated by the negative actions of his on the field

- Third was his desire to have another crack back in Europe to play himself at the highest level he can play

There was a chat at the Bavarian before the Perth game where a family source was cited...

It appears Bulut is back in the country and he's hanging out with the Skaf family...

Huh?... elaborate. Locked up?

No no he isn't locked up. He's hanging out with Ali Skaf

honestly bulut has to be one of the most stupid people around, tonnes of talent, could leave his old life and be a huge ******* success but the people he chooses to spend time with are some pretty messed up people, sadly i dont think he will ever grow up, he will be known as the biggest wasted potential in football, i honestly think he is talented enough to play in the EPL if he sorted his head but its not going to happen

And there's your prima facie evidence why he will never appear again in red and black.

Shame that Tarek Elrich isn't around to give him a few cold sober truths, as per his brother Ahmad. Of course Kerem isn't in the same category as Ahmad but they are/were gifted individuals who could have achieved more for themselves, their community and their country.

Don't understand why people are so obsessed with this guy.

I put it to the infamous derby of last season.

We all knew going into the game we were going to get done, but the question was how much? The squad was robbed of energy, and the defensive rock known as Spiranovic was on national duty, so couldn't mark Janko out of the game.

Sure as **** Janko runs riot and we're three nil down in almost 20 minutes. La Rocca salvaged something from the first half, but it felt empty.

Then magic man Bulut scores the double. Tattoos everywhere, looks like a gangster and is the total embodiment of what East Sydney hate about us.

We lost 4-3, but it felt like a win. It's rightfully known as the Bulut derby for a reason.

(before you ask, I don't want him back. Way too much trouble)

Please tell me the Skaf family he's hanging out with is not the Bilal Skaf family?

No these Skafs are Liverpool based, i don't think they are related but probably call each other cuz.

Thank goodness. I googled Ali Skaf and Bilal came up

Atmosphere at that game was electric the moment he started warming up on the sideline. It might have been a loss but FMD that was the best home experience for all of last season.

I use this memory to balance out the histrionics he chucked at Juric when he wouldn't pass to an offside spot, and the subsequent school boy scolding he got from Popa minutes later.

Forever red and black, but he had his chance.

I think Kerem is an amazing footballer and was a good fit for the the playing style of Popa. He does work pretty hard off the ball and he has a real eye for goal. Unfortunately for us he is also a polarizing figure and he would have put too many people offside in the team. I would love him to come back but its not going to happen. If there was ever a player who seemed like a great fit for the team, he was it. But you cant go punching on with the Captain and yelling at teammates if things don't go  your way. Has unlimited potential, needs to grow up fast before he gets another chance at WSW. Sadness all around.
