i personally think he would find more confidence and learn how to read the game better as a striker. His pace would have more effect when the defenders are facing him as opposed to when he is on the wing, the defenders are on there side allowing them to turn much faster than when they are in the centre of the park.

love it how everybody is criticising kubi even though he is still VERY RAW at the tender age of 21.... bloke did alright in his few games when he played

yet many people ignore all the errors and mistakes that kresinger made, but fk it treat him like a God cause he does a fist pump to the crowd..... bloke shoudnt have been told where he went wrong on game day the guy is 30 something should have known better..... took the guy 10-15 games just to get adjusted lol

i would loan out kubi for the remainder of the nswpl season let him get some game time under his belt and recapture his form

i think its more constructive criticism than anything. he has shown potential in those games he did all right, and we think and want him to do better.

and +1 to playing on loan. kid that age should be playing as much as possible so come season start, he can hit the ground running.

true that

but i recall if anybody dissed kresinger it was like the other supporters had a knife to their throat lol

i hope kubi gets loaned out, gets game time in the nswpl and will be match fit and no excuses coming into the season

i believe atm all his appearances will be from the bench

The whole Dino phenomenon was just a bit of fun. I think everyone knew he wasn't all that good, but just went along with the banter for laughs. It was actually helping us on the field getting him pumped up the way we did. But in the end there was a reason Popa let him go.

With Kubi it is more that we want him to do well as he is still young and has time on his side, so we talk more seriously about him. Totally different situation to Dino.

Laughs? I wanted Dino to do well because he clearly put in the effort and deserved the rewards. In the end, he gave us one of the most memorable goals of the season.

I'm saying that the whole Dino cult like figure that was created was a bit of a laugh. I never said I didn't want him to do well or that he didn't put in the effort. But at the end of the day we needed someone better than him in the position he was playing. We should be grateful for being able to snap up a player like Juric.

Calling Dino a cult figure pretty much sums it up. He is a figure of our support for the underdog.

Good point re Appiah having an off season spell with a PL side. I wonder if Popa entertained the thought.

Obviously it wouldn't happen now with pre season under way

I think no one is actually criticizing him, we all know he is a raw talent and very young, just needs some fine tuning.

Loan idea is good but should been done after Our season finished as PL season is just about to finish.

I dont think a PL side will help Kubi at this stage of his career to tell you the truth. Everytime he has come on for us he has done ok. At the PL level he would just stand out again. He needs to develop at the A league level. Keep giving him as many minutes as you can especially the last 20-30 mins of matches. He will slowly but surely get better and better. I think he is a good young player and I would prefer we developed him at a level that will challenge him. Like what they are currently doing. They know what they are doing.

The thing is Jukes01, he didn't play enough minutes last season imo. Not enough at this stage of his development

all his appearances in the upcoming season will be off the bench unless injuries take their toll

Good move by the club to hang onto him.

The best way for him to improve is through experience.

Anyone else heard about Appiah-Kubi apparently dropping the Kubi from his name so it's just Kwabena Appiah?

I've noticed that all the material from the club which mentions him has just referred to Appiah lately, I thought that may be the case.

Maybe he was sick of it being mangled whenever the crowd called out his last name in the warm up?

I always thought the "Kubi!!" when we called out his name sounded awesome.

My mate insists he will always be "Kubi" in his eyes. It'll just be his nickname now :D

This kid put in a solid shift today. Popa looked very pleased when he took him off. He really has great movement and speed on the ball.

agreed, imagine how deadly he would be if he had the finished product at the end of all his amazing speed

he is getting there, and some of what he was trying to do didnt work because a few of his team mates were just a tiny bit slow but if he was clinical in front of the box then he would destroy every team in the league

All he is missing is that final pass sometimes. And he should probably be a bit more selfish. There were a few moments he could have taken a shot himself or gotten past the defenders near the 18 yard box, but instead decided to go for a pass.

But good on him.He will only keep improving.
