Description: Mark Bridge revitalised his career after being used sparingly in his final years at Sydney FC with his consistency at the highest level stopping him from achieving his potential. After a season under Tony Popovic Bridge gained a new sense of professionalism, winning the club golden boot award in 2012/13 and earning a 3 year extension to his contract. He left the club for a lucrative contract in Thailand, but returned to Australia shortly after, re-joining the Wanderers on a 2 year contract. In 2017/18 Bridge finished the 2nd highest scorer but his 5 goal output had a minimal impact on the Wanderers fortunes and he began to look off the pace at the end of the season. He was injured for almost the entire 2018/19 season and subsequently retired from professional football.

I'm not convinced that Bridge as a #10 while also wearing the arm band is a good mix. He didn't have enough opportunity to get in amongst it and try to lead by example when the pressure was high. You could see him trying to fire the boys up after the goal, but our guys have always seemed to respond better to a captain's actions then his words.

Also not convinced he is a #10 at all, but there's not a lot of options until Saba is fully match fit.

couldnt stop laughing at the article that mentioned topor calling him fat head, was trying to think of a better nickname that would honour his big head a bit better with a few people and we all agreed that Mark 'Hammerhead' Bridge sounded pretty good! hahaha

Was it topor or the official from the AFC?

2 assists and a goal.

Best I've seen him play in a LONG time. Especially in the send half, but I suppose you could say the same for the whole Wanderers team haha.

I read this opinion a lot and disagree a lot! He was an absentee in the first half and got a bit of luck in the second.

His derby performance was significantly better, though I may be a bit biased, I love him at #10. On that note, Bridgey at #10 and Yojiro at #8? I'm lovin' it...

Abdominal injury. Could be out a while.

Who will play badly at #10 instead of putting Takahagi there now!?!?

Really?? WTF is it with injuries that take months to recover??? What happened to injuries where they'll be ok next week???!!!!

I could play badly at #10! :P

Stupid effing injuries! There goes my happy.

On the upside, now we get to go shopping for a central defender as injury-replacement...
