Re: debut - He's just asking when Martin will make his debut for the Wanderers first team, not the youth team. He's played in pre season games but hasn't played a competitive game yet.

ohhh umm I don't really know yet, I've asked him but he hasn't replied yet.

This thread just escalated.

In other news, I wish Popa would hurry up and give him some minutes. Would've liked to have seen him on the bench last night.

Martin's only playing Youth League now he's not playing A-league yet, thought you knew.

I doubt even he would know. Popovic, the guy picking the squad, doesn't tell his players much anyway re: who gets picked.

Just know that we all can't wait to see Martin finally make his debut for the Wanderers! People have been excited to see him play.

I know who popa is so you don't need to explain lol. And yeah Martin's been working really hard towards this and he's finally achieving his dreams which the whole family is so happy about. He's been playing ever since he was 9 but he grew up with a ball at his feet. I remember playing some soccer with him along with my other cousins in the backyard but that was years ago and look at where he is now!

...I am aware he hasn't played in the A-League.

I was under the impression he has a contract with the A-League squad which in turn leads me to believe he will play in the A-League this season.

When/if that eventuates, I don't know. Regardless, I hope he does get some minutes this season. He has a lot of talent, especially for his age.

He's 5"6-7 I'm his cousin do you really think I wouldn't know

I have heaps of cousins.. and I sure as hell wouldn't know their height - i don't even know mine. lol

Saw him running around here in Canberra and was excited with what I saw.. it was like reading about a unicorn for 12 months, then actually seeing it!

can't wait to see him warming up on the sidelines... stretching the hammies, then quickly into some on-the-spot high knee jumps as he replaces Poljak.  Massive roar by crowd.  Bigger than Dino.....  #yeahiwentthere

That seems consistent with him being subbed in the first half if the NYL game on Wednesday

Wouldn't he need to be stretchered off?

Not always. It would depend on the injury. For example- I've heard that if you partially tear your Achilles, you can't walk on it - but if you completely tear it, you can walk fine. Maybe something similar for the knee.
