In all of the madness last night, for me the worst moment (and what I thought would be defining - luckily it wasn't) was Mitch going down at the end of regular time with what appeared to be a groin strain.

Any word on the severity? For as quiet he may have been in a couple of the later games of the season, he's our best player in my opinion and easily the fittest, and we would definitely miss him next week if it's bad.

Plus he was moving pretty freely when he was giving it to the den after the match.

He looked like he was trying to convince Popa to leave him on and was pretty annoyed when he got subbed. That suggests it isn't too bad, although that entire diagnosis is based on body language and a conversation I couldn't hear...

UPDATE: INJURY won’t rule Mitch Nichols out of Sunday’s A-League grand final against Adelaide, but the match review panel might.

The Wanderers playmaker is facing a possible suspension over making an offensive gesture towards Brisbane Roar fans following Western Sydney’s thrilling 5-4 semi-final win last weekend.

The Roar have submitted a formal complaint to the FFA against Nichols - a former long-serving Brisbane player - on behalf of their fans. Nichols, who was substituted after 90 minutes, ran towards the away supporters following the Wanderers’ extra-time win and issued a two-fingered salute.

An embarrassed Nichols was reluctant to discuss the issue but described it as “just something a bit silly in the heat of the moment.â€

But any potential ban will infuriate coach Tony Popovic, especially after Nichols had shrugged off what appeared to be a muscle injury with which he hobbled off during the Wanderers’ stunning win, fearing his hopes of playing in a third grand final would be scotched by injury.

OhhPuhlease..... What is more offensive, the V for Victory sign or Bouncy Bouncy.... That has to be the most cringeworthy act I have seen on a football terrace worldwide...  :smurfpoint:
