Did well but could have easily came out and cleared that 2nd goal

probably the goalkeeping coach told him stay on your line after last week

Needs an updated picture.:search:

He was a winner last year in the team that beat those supposedly unbeatable Melbourne City NYL team 3-1 in their grandfinal.

I certainly felt a lot more confident with Suman in goals than have been with Nizic.

Even though Nizic never didn’t anything wrong in the derby, he never looked comfortable with shots never mind if they were missing the goal...

Was that the one where he managed to nutmeg himself? You can’t let the ball through your legs at that distance.

Does anyone else see that as a horror mistake, especially to make on your debut? He was either: making himself big as if he was a few yards from goal or was trying to use his feet if the ball stayed low. I couldn’t figure out what he was doing.

Disagree, should have stayed in goal & made the right decision. The key? The CB, if the CB is able to make a recovery run or get the ball, don’t come off your line! We were able to push him sufficiently wide enough that it should have been a comfortable save.

Suman wasn't going to come out for that. He was 40+ yards away when the ball was played, along the ground as a diagonal through ball to one of the quickest players in the competition. It looked deceptively long because of where the shot was taken, but Suman would have had to decide to come out when it was still 30 yards away from him, and with Tarek and the Mileusnic much closer to the ball.

The goal could have been scored near post or between the legs because the angle was bad for the keeper and it was from 8 yards away with zero defensive pressure. Tarek got absolutely murdered for pace despite a long headstart and in the end he wasn't even close. The shot was a quality that we rarely see in the A-League, between the legs at pace on the run first time.

If he kept his feet together he'd have just been beaten at the near post by the shot being half a yard to the right. That was a goal from good football not from a mistake by the keeper.

Mack dissecting what you have typed only strengthens my view he should have come for the ball.

The shot ended up being taken from just to the right on the pen spot, the player himself needed to go over 20 metres to get to it, Suman had to travel 10 metres if he came for it he is likely -

A - manages to get this hands on it

B - at least clear with foot

C - has made enough distance to significantly give the attacker less of a target

He's a rookie so I'm not hanging him out to dry, I just feel by coming out as soon as the pass was played it's less likely that goal happens. Granted Tarek showed why he's days as a stater should be done.

Suman was probably told by the coaching staff to stay on his line for anything questionable, because he was playing a debut in the A-League and the speed of the competition is miles above anything you get in the NYL & NPL2. Mileusnic's sprint speed is faster than Ronaldo. He's literally one of the quickest players in the world.

So how does Wales compare in speed to Mileusnic?

No idea, I imagine Wales is pretty quick but Mileusnic's speed was GPS/tracker confirmed.

So if we use Unlimited's preferred player comparison FIFA for Pace

Trent Buhagiar 92

Nikola Mileusnic 89

Lachlan Wales 88

Sotirio 82

Lol. Those numbers aren't right.

Buhagiar used to run 100m in under 11 seconds apparently.

Spider Kalac reporting on the Shim, Spider and So Much Moore podcast (Simon Hill, Spider and Craig Moore) that Suman has signed with Macarthur due to lack of game time. He'll be second fiddle to Federici, but can't really blame him wanting change.

Wonder when the annual purge announcement will come?

On his day brilliant shot stopper but.......his form & decision making over the last two seasons has been breathtaking at times (not in a good way).

Seems he is not going anywhere so hoping he returns to his original form.

He's probably one bad concussion away from a forced retirement.

If Suman leaves then Spider's lad is one step up the pecking order

Complains about lack of game time and then goes to a club where he also won’t get game time?

Probably $$$

I assume we haven't offered a new contract. If the club is expecting Lopar and Vedran to be available next year (or to find replacement keepers for one or both of them that will be ahead of Suman), coming off his scholarship contract it wouldn't be in WSW's interests to retain him as he would be required to hold one of our 26 squad cap positions. For a club that already has two full roster spots used on keepers and is in a rebuilding phase we need that spot for an outfield player more than a 3rd keeper which we can easily get during the season if a player is injured, because of the lax injury replacement rules.

I think the fact that JP opted to go and sign Pendergast instead of starting Suman said everything where the pecking order is at the club.

To be expected. With Lopar and Vedran (:nono:) in front of him he wasn't going to get too many games/minutes of game time.
