Club legend in the making? I've staked my reputation on it.

Would be awesome, but can't see this happening if they reduce the visa spots from 5 to 4 next year!

Am I the only one who isn't really that excited for Seyi? (no offence to him)

I think it's coz you don't know anything about him. That's my guess coz I don't feel excited. I'm not unexcited, just waiting to see how he goes. Hopefully we are given reason to be excited!

yeah exactly. Everyone else seems to think he will be bloody amazing, and yet we know hardly anything about him.

Interested to see what he will bring to the table

didn't mind him, seems a more attacking player, got caught out a few times but 1st game u cant expect miracles.... well perhaps in eastern Sydney.

Had some good moments but I'm not as excited yet as most others are. Am waiting to see how he goes over the next few games. If the positives I saw yesterday continue to grow I'll be very happy.

what was he doing running in circles close to our box in the 3rd minute???  wtf was with that?

remember he's just come from the northern hemisphere so he's still re-adjusting to being upside down

I thought it was great tekkers though

Apart from Castelen probably our best player last night. Im sure he will be one of the better LB's in aleague this season. Reminds me alot of Traore from MV, just with alot more skill.

''With God on my side I had a great debut and the coaching crew of Western Sydney Wanderers FC was so satisfied. The fans were also glad to see me in action after the delay of my arrival to the team even though we lost 1-0,'' a delighted Adeleke told SL10.ng.

''I played from left back. The difference I noticed is that here in the A-League, the game is played at a fast pace for the full 90 minutes, while in Italy they slow and build up the pace.

''Of course, I had been fully fit before I joined the team because I had been training hard in Italy.''

Western Sydney Wanderers were recently crowned champions of Asia, but they are struggling in the A - League, having lost their opening three matches, meaning they are the bottom team in the standings.

''WSW FC are last in the log because the team is having three (two, ed) outstanding matches to play!

''And moreover with five new recruits to the team, the coaches are trying to build up together with the older ones,'' Seyi Adeleke concluded.

That is an interesting observation there. Any time I've played football in teams with players or coaches raised on European and South American football, they have always pleaded with the "skips" to slow down the play, take time on the ball, relax, save your energy.

I've long suspected Australian footballers try to compensate for their comparative lack of technical skill by getting fit and running like buggery for 90 minutes. It goes hand in hand with the physicality inherent in our footballing culture (to some extent no doubt modelled on mid-20th C English football - not all teams, but there sure was a lot of hoof it and hope football going on at that time).

It would be interesting to see what our other imports might have to say on this subject.

I like Adeleke. I could only see the highlights package but he looked good in what I saw. He also talks the hardworking and humble talk that the Aussie punters love to hear. Early signs show a good match to the WSW way of life.

His name is Adeleke he's the Wanderers left back. His forte it is turning defence into attack.

He's here he's there he's everywhere the best you've ever seen, he's Seyi Adeleke in the hoops of West Sydney.

I love the lad, but he's shown that he's definitely still a lad. An older head would've kicked Ibini over near the sideline. Hell, even Seb Ryall would've rugby tackled him. Really cost us (as well as poor finishing, of course).

Sitting back of bay 24, I yelled out, CHOP HIM, CHOP HIM HARD!

He should have at least pushed him or done something, taken 1 for the team!

He lunges in and wins the ball every single time. His timing on making those tackles is near perfect. Unfortunately, he didn't lunge in on Bernie and tried to hold him up, and it cost us big time.

He is head and shoulders above Golec / Cole / Mullen for one of the Wingback spots.

He shouldn't really be judged for that rookie mistake, Popa will be all over that.

I thought he had a terrific game otherwise, he was everywhere in the first half.

Wholly agree, as I said, I love the lad. It's just that an older player would've axed Ibini before he got anywhere near goal.

Was watching replay with commentary, and 1 of the Fox guys actually said he started out his career as an attacking midfielder! Was somewhat surprised by that and kinda helps explain what we see in that he's such a threat going forward but even his tackles are spot on but defensive positioning sometimes abit suspect.

Anyway, I like what I've seen of him so far. If he can improve on his def positioning, our left side will no longer be a worry
