Popas plan for Juric:

Give him as little minutes as possible so he doesn't get noticed in Europe or by the other A-league teams and then unleash him the finals series where he bicycle kicks us to our first grand final win. By then he wouldn't have gained enough exposure to warrant a move overseas and we get him for another season.

Flawless plan by Popa if i do say so myself.

So, im curious to know after he scored a goal, why he ran to hug Popa?

Juric can't dance so goes to Popa who also can't dance.

Give the kid the ball in the box and well score most times

On average Juric is the 4th highest scorer with 0.47 goals a game.
Berisha is 0.69, Taggart 0.59, Williams 0.48.

Im not sure about minutes per goal but he would probably have an even higher average id say

So, I'm curious to know after he scored a goal, why he was called "Tom" and not "Tomi"?

Because Andy Paschalidis (who took over from the ground announcer after the second goal) called him Tom and not Tomi.

But why?

Since when was it up to him to call the players whatever he wants??

Especially when on the big screen it clearly says "Tomi Juric"!

That got a chuckle out of me.

On a serious note though, how good would it have been if he'd scored that overhead bicycle kick last Sunday!

Bicycle kick was wednesday.

Audacious flick with heel was Sunday.

Both of which would have been ridiculous if they went in. I love his eye for goal and willingness to take his chances, as a proper #9 should.

He seems to know where to be at the right time, players like Juric time their run to perfection or ghost into position unnoticed Rush, Lineker, are two I can mention

Hersi on Sunday could have squared the ball to Tomi for a simple tap in but went for glory.

If he keeps on going the way he's going, then he's a definite chance for the socceroos Asian Cup squad, too many injuries have left him out of the World Cup unless he score about 2 goals a game for the remainder of the season and postecoglou has to pick him

We don't score 2 goals a game as a team so there's little chance of that right now (except Perth).  I can't wait to see a fully fit "Tom Juric" (who the hell was that announcer after he scored against Perth).  He puts literal fear in to defences with his highly aggressive and fast attacking of the 50/50's and it's exciting as you anticipate something will happen.  I probably only think the same when Hersi gets the ball and less so this season.  He almost always wins those 50/50's and goes on with intent.  We've missed that so much this season and you'd be blind not to see the difference his introduction creates.  I look forward to seeing him fully fit and putting in a good stint for long patches of the game with our threadbare (whoever they may be) midfield  next season.

8 goals this season, imagine if he played every game, no doubt he'd be in contention for golden boot.

he's only gonna get better :)

yeah but he started a few games back and was fairly average. i think he is much more effective cumming of the bench and popa knows it i think popa will keep him as a impact player until next season then slowly introduce him in to the starting 11 being such a young raw talent he has to be molded properly

Love Tomi!

I think he's a gun, but lately it seems our strikers (haliti, Juric, Santalab) are all impact players.

None offer us 90 mins up front and look threatening.

I really dont like the part of him missing the start of the season.

What type of thigh injury keeps you out for over 2 months?

Anyhow we really need the guy fully fit with a pre-season because hes a double figures striker if he gets a season under his belt.

"thigh strain" haha...oops can't play All Stars...hmm might be right for a cameo at the FFA Cup game.

Will be right for the ACL game :)

Exactly Popa has a job to do and this All Stars thing was just going to be a useless distraction.

But he just sent me an e-mail... :-)

This week I go into camp with the Foxtel A-League All Stars as we get ready to take on Italian giants Juventus at ANZ Stadium on Sunday 10 August.

Juventus will be at full strength and there is no better way to get ready for the new Hyundai A-League season than coming up against the likes of Carlos Tevez and Andrea Pirlo.

Get to ANZ Stadium, cheer on the FOXTEL A-League All Stars and witness world class football on your door step.

Click here to get your tickets today.

See you in the terraces,

Tomi Juric
Western Sydney Wanderers & All Stars forward
