thats guna hurt we are going to need to be in top form to take out Adelaide they are a top 4 finisher imo

we struggle without hersi but i have faith we can get a result

Imo the quicker our squad adapts to play without the need for Hersi the better, we can not go any longer with this stat that if Hersi doesnt play we dont win.

We have to be more versatile, I really think Santa will step up this game and Tahj to make a big impact of the bench.

Watch this space.

what about appiah man does that guy even exist???

Still injured, but its gonna be hard for him to break into the first team lot of options there, i think both taj & santa are before him.

He does but he's had an injured ankle for several weeks & when I met him last Thursday he still had about 2-3 weeks before it was right again.

I think Popa is now looking at Tahj and Santa as his replace-a-Hersi options, and don't forget Kwabena was only so prominent last season cause Tahj had a broken/ruptured ankle.

I thought his injury wasn't so severe... Looks like it was, 3 weeks now

I would go with taj to start

Agree 100%...and in light of Tomi out put Santa up front and return Bridge to LAM

Unless he continues with Cole in the RW role, i still much rather Taj there

I feel Cole will get the nod for his defensive ability and Tahj will come on for his speed as an impact player after 60-70 mins. I'd be happy to see either play.

I agree with this. Hard to drop someone who scored the winning goal, and Traore will destroy us if we don't have someone who can defend

Injury update for Hersi -

I say 50/50 for Saturday

"It's a bit of a unique injury that he got and it really is a day-by-day proposition," he said.

"Today he feels good and we hope to get him out on the field for the rest of the week. If he can get through that then he'll be available."

He was training out the back prior to the game last night, looked good. Said he should be back next week.

Definitely need him back. Neither Cole nor Santalab are adequate solutions for the gap created by a missing Hersi, and the positional awareness he and Polenz share is worth every red cent the club have spent on the two. Throw in his pressing speed and determination well...we need him.

I think Santa and Cole are great replacements, but that's pretty much it (when comparing them to Juric and Hersi). They got into some great positions and could've done better. But I still think they did well. I'm much happier this year with what we have in replacements. Playing Champions League is gonna be very interesting to see these guys getting a full game (Santa, Cole, Minniecon, Spiranovic, Haliti possibly)

Way I see it (and hey, Popa has pulled the right reins so far) Haliti and Minniecon are better in that RW/RM pozzie than either Santa or Cole, and for that matter if Appiah-Kubi was fit I would look at him again. However it's obvious that neither Labi or Tahj are going to be on the field from kick-off, so I guess with Juric out for at leats a month we will see Cole as Hersi's starting replacement.
