  1. hear to add my voice to what must be an overwhelming chorus of criticism against the RBB actions Facts: brought the club into disrepute again provided more ammunition for media haters to pile on made some people think about the appropriateness of taking young kids to a game lest they see Arnold with a cock in his mouth made up of a bunch of childish dicks who think they are more important than the club or players
  2. Popovic played with plenty of flares around him at Sydney United. He knows what goes on. He has to play politically correct. So he doesn't mean it and flares are ok? Thankfully the NSL days are over and hopefully this sport can now grow into the top sport in this country and what we all know is its true potential .... I'm thinking Popa has also matured a bit and can see the bigger picture now What can you do when the CEO of the club and Coach (on behalf of players as well) call for it to stop in no uncertain terms and people think "nah...he's not serious...he is just playing politics"
  3. I agree that most fans have no interest in flares And i agree that it should be up to security in general but that is clearly failing......at some point those that have the clubs best interest at heart need to realise this nonsense hurts the team and the positive promotion of the club Here is a suggestion: a well worded statement by the RBB handed out to patrons as they enter the North Terrace something along the lines of "this is all a beat up....however we dont want the team penalised ....so zero tolerance" i dont agree neutrality or washing hands of it is sufficient.....fans/team look to RBB for leadership when it comes to support and i believe they are well placed to stand up for the teams best interests Chenko I dont agree with all you have said and in fact I used to think along the same lines as you for a long time but some things you need to realise. One its a very small minority of 20-30 people who are willing to engage in this activity. Next a worded statement will do what. Something a 5yr ban wont. Give me a break. If someone doesnt give a sh1t about a 5 yr ban whats a worded statement going to do. You have to catch those few who do it or if you really want to stop it. You shut down the RBB and make it sitting. Something the FFA and the clubs dont want to think about it. It's true...my opinion is not from within the trenches so to speak as haven't been in NT since season 1 But 20-30 trouble makers who are hangers on and make the trip to melbourne? A lot of commitment for a flog. I am not convinced there are some who know who these people are and they are regulars.....a cursory glance at this board shows many who think rebellion is still a good strategy and damn be the consequences you have much too much faith in my abilities ....as opposed to a well respected broad based fan group who i sometimes take the lead from as do many of us side line dwellers
  4. "we do not encourage the use of flares, anyone who does so does so to the detriment of the club, its players and the fans, and is not now or will ever be welcomed in the active area whilst flares are banned" semantics to some .....fence sitting diplomacy to others a quick look at the RBB FB page suggests not everyone is in on the we do not encourage flares....i understand they might not be leadership and could be flogs (people still using that word?) but they do go to games and do sit active and do encourage ultra lifestyle and pyro etc anyway.....back to the east stand it is! please do right by the club and the team is all we naysayers are saying They're otherwise stating "we politely ask you to refrain from flare usage" or "flares are illegal henceforth your co-operation in adhering to this law is advised" or "Please depart the establishment if you wish to participate in flare activities. I love Britannia". The RBB should really form their own political party. Yes its hard to argue there is any serious condemnation going on and it's a look over there policy......the argument seems to be what role and influence the RBB have in putting a stop to it......i believe they could make a greater impact .....others seem to be saying its not our problem
  5. 7. You already get 5 yrs for ripping a flare. What is docking 3pts suppoaed to do if they arent worried about a 5 yr ban. If you dock points it will be more flares not less in my honest opinion. Surely thats a logical step. ok...good to know there is no-one here who still believes flares are appropriate .....perhaps due to not knowing the internal workings, i overestimate the influence of the RBB leadership group....but i would have thought an RBB directive to those that sit in active ..which could be communicated a variety of ways to all and sundry that the team is more important then the sparklers and to put winning the championship first....would go along way anyway...long time....how you been man?
  8. The argument seems to be over Flares are finished.....rip a flare and they take 3 points ....who wants to tell Popa and the team that they think their right to pyro is worthy of their sacrifice of competition points
  9. william galas eat your heart out we have a new champ
  10. We dont fare well in playoffs, see 1998 (lost to croatia) 2002 (germany) & 2010 (greece) That said 2006 was magical, seeing the almighty Andriy Shevchenko strut his stuff on the biggest stage... Never forget Rebrov's goal againt saudi arabia lmao we are a much better team then that......but always underperform on big stage oh well at least we have hot women as our best export I felt bad for you guys after the history in that but haha
  11. I reckon that there will be a small number of members that didn't go to the Adelaide game because it was a Friday night and also didn't show because it was raining last night. So I suspect that a small number of members have only been to the first home game of the season against the nix. Big game members that will be up for the derby game but not much else. well that's not real support and a shame as hard to spread the wanderers love when we cant get new fans into games because some people are sitting on their tickets at home plus empty seats just look crap and detract from the atmosphere!
