  1. Vedran WTAF?!?!?!?!?!? I've never had this thought before, but - 'Is it us?' As supporters we're the most active and most vocal in the league. We have so much pride and passion for our team, and make so much out of every game - Is it too much for some players? Do they break under the pressure? When we win, that fantastic (and fanatic) support can make a player feel invincible. But when we're losing, does that support make them crack? Otherwise, I've got no other explanation for what I just saw Vedran do. (Unless he was blinded by a frigging laser and couldn't see where
  2. Yeah, as much as it stings to lose again, have to remember that half the team are youngsters, and most of our best players aren't even in the starting 11. For our youngsters to hold the lead till the 84th minute isn't bad. We just need more experienced heads for the team to hold on until the 94th minute.
  3. Yet again we go down 4-3 to a top 4 team. At least we lost fair and square this time. Though that doesn't make it sting any less.
  4. I don't pretend to know why this is happening. It could be the FFA? - Gallop and his 'fish where the fish are' strategy only works if the 2 (now 3) teams in a city are 'evened out'. If 1 team takes over most of the city then it doesn't work and you're better off with a regional team instead. (IMHO we should have more regional teams, not made up teams (SWS), but that's a seperate topic). It could be conscious bias? - we know from painful experience that KGJ isn't fair to us. And maybe some other refs think we're just Westie 'scum'? It could be subconscious bias? - ref goes into a
  5. You're a hard taskmaster, beatsurrender. Not only did the young lads have to battle the heat and the opposing team, but they had to battle against the refs too. And while we certainly didn't play Adelaide off the park, I was proud that the boys gave their all until the end. Some games will be like this, where the ball doesn't bounce your way, or the ref has taken a set against you. How well a team of players respond to that is a test of their character. And I'm happy with their response tonight. (Though there is obviously room for the team to improve). What I'm not happy wi
  6. This is why I feel so sorry for the linesman. He worked so hard for Adelaide, putting his reputation and credibility as a linesman on the line. And not even a single Tobin point for his efforts. No justice.
  7. This... Even the best refs can make mistakes. And I expect in the course of the season to lose a game or 2 to a controversial decision. But this is just so blatant, and so constant that it can't be just bad luck. Even the Adelaide player they interviewed at the Fox desk after the game came across as apologetic. Saying it was their worst game of the season and they were 'lucky' to win. I think we all know 'luck' had nothing to do with it.
  8. Sure as a Wanderers fan I'm disappointed. And I do feel sorry for the Boys in Red & Black. But the 2 that I feel most sorry for are the Assistant Referees. They did enough to get at least 2 Tobin points, if not Man of the Match. Adelaide couldn't have won without them. And the VAR had been outstanding. Especially near goals. The Wanderers just can't get past him.
  9. Now I know why they brought in VAR - so the likes of KGJ can screw us over without having to face our fans. **##$ing cowardly.
  10. I think both assistant referees should be nominated for man of the Match for their efforts for Adelaide. One blunts our attacks, the other ignores blatant outside goals scored against us.
  11. I don't agree that we lack the #mentality. We just scored 3 goals away against the number 1 team in the league, with half our players missing, and a referee that throughout the Match was determined to stop us. And we still nearly won. I'm not saying we can't improve, or that we're having a great season. But clearly we can play a competitive game of football. I do agree that we can't fix the refs, though.
  12. Yeah, I don't blame the opposition player for milking the penalty. I blame the ref for awarding a blatantly soft penalty.
  13. I don't agree with that either. As Madkaw said above, what is Hamill meant to do disappear? We can't start playing to trying please biased refs. Otherwise, we might as well just give the game away.
  14. I don't agree with this. Though he did have his hands on him to begin with, Hamill did not have him in a bear hug. Even the biased Perth commentators said it was a soft penalty. We didn't throw this game away, it was taken from us.
  15. Wow, I'm loving our 1st half performance. Is this game really 1st v 8th?!? Seems more like 3rd v 4th. Either Perth are massively overrated, or we have the makings of a halfway decent team. Not gonna get too cocky for the 2nd half. I know from experience that Popa can fire up a team in the break. But very happy with the game so far, and hopefully Perth start getting punished for all the fouls, knocks and hits to the back of the head that have gone unpunished so far.
  16. Baby..... ....Baccus Baby..... ....Baccus BABY..... ....BACCUS!!!!!
  17. Even if we make the semi's, we won't be playing at WSS this season. The club won't be ready. The RBB seating allocation doesn't even start until April 2019.
  18. Here's the club's video wrap up - Match in a minute in Mudgee.
  19. Someone should suggest to the Jets to start hosting their community matches at Mudgee against us. That way we can go back there twice as often.
  20. The RBB have made it official - There's a March!!! https://mobile.twitter.com/RBB_net/status/1060303402020700160
  21. Regarding TV ratings & Streaming, don't forget that this is the 1st season that Telstra customers have had access to the A-League live for free. There are more than 1 million people with access to the service, though Telstra doesn't breakdown by Sport. I have no idea how many, but I wouldn't be surprised if many thousands of A-League fans hadn't ditched paying for Foxtel to watch the A-League for free on their phones.
  22. At the risk of being told I'm none too Bright again, here's some more info for anyone driving up to Mudgee. The Car Park next to the Stadium will be closed for the game. So you won't be able to drive straight to the game. A Shuttle bus will be running around Mudgee to take people to the game. Or the walk is a little over a KM from the 'Mudgee CBD'. (Disclaimer: I am not the author of the info, I'm just the messager.)
