  1. they said that it was an attacking mid/striker (would be injury replacement for Gameiro) and a defender
  2. Well, the journo has a story - that it'll happen that evening. What's the problem? Plus, you always want to be the first person to break the breaking news story. Moreover, the journo didn't create a story, it actually happened. Creating a story would be I dunno... "Ronaldinho to be new marquee player for Roar - announcement to be made tonight" and then we all laugh the next day because that never happened. The polite thing to do would be wait until the club has sacked Mulvey, get your contact to let you know that it has happened, and then publish the story. Seems to me that he just wanted to create a sh*t storm and damage the clubs reputation for their poor handling of the situation. And yes, he did create a story. He created the whole "Mulvey doesn't know that he's going to get sacked in a few hours" story.
  3. time for the hammer to lay down the law on the last few pages of this thread 1. talk shi*t, get hit. no doubt the newy fan wasn't just an innocent person minding their own, but FFS in broad daylight with loads of people around? its a piss poor look and honestly not worth the bans that are gonna be coming to them all. 2. children and women of course should be in the active area if they're contributing. shouldnt even be a debate. The f*ckin idiot teenagers who don't know what they're doing with flares should not be though. leave it to people who know what they're doing. Having said that, whether you like flares or not, everyone knows that the risk of injury is increased 1000 fold because of their illegality. Flares aren't gonna go away, but we can make them a whole lot safer if they were legal and injuries such as those down in melbourne would be prevented. 3. I don't think anyones mentioned this but I'm gonna call out that journo up in brisbane who broke the Mulvey story. he releases the story early afternoon and clearly states within it that the actual sacking would not take place till evening. so he 100% knew that Mulvey, the players, the fans wouldn't know about it at the point the story was published, yet he published it anyway. It isn't the job of a journo to create a story, it's to report on stories. Poor form, and didn't even give the club a chance.
  4. just needs a goal and then I reckon he will explode
  5. I think we have to cut FFA some (read: a very tiny amount) slack when it comes to all fixturing decisions. FOX rules, and the time difference from Perth to the eastern states would probably screw up their ratings, so I think it was always going to be in Adelaide. Unfortunate for Perth. I agree that it would have been great for the game over there
  6. Switching focus onto another issue.. I don't bloody want half the crap they put in the membership pack. Perhaps when we're renewing there should be an option so that we can choose what we want. It's a big waste of money when multiplied by 17k people
  7. why would we want a half empty stadium? ANZ does have us by the balls, but thats not such of a bad thing right now anyway. New stadium of 30-35k with an option to upgrade (after 2031, or whatever date it is) would be perfect
  8. Anyone actually know the financial ins and outs of the club? I suspect that a lot of us are being pessimistic, when in actual fact despite the facade of deep trouble (piss poor crowds) they might not actually be doing too badly. Sure they may never be really profitable, but with their CoE/gym/other facilities I think they can be financially stable even if they average really poor crowds.

    Seyi Adeleke

remember he's just come from the northern hemisphere so he's still re-adjusting to being upside down I thought it was great tekkers though
  10. I think the police just misunderstood the football culture and didnt expect there to be pyro at centenary square, hence the low police prescence. Unfortunately there were a couple of conveniently placed cameras which could get some guys in trouble. I believe that the police will still not tolerate flares. the media, on the other hand, have without a doubt turned a blind eye to pyro this season The police when determining there risk assessment take into account illegal activities such as flares, so was just interested in whether the view has really changed! I very much doubt that they no longer see it as a risk. In fact I did hear some talk on the Sunday that they were unhappy with the pyro. I honestly just think that they thought there would be no pyro

this bloke just won the Asian Champions League. let that sink in for a bit.. he may not be everyones favourite, nor may he be the best in the squad but its a pretty damn good story nonetheless. i hope he realises how bloody lucky he is haha
  15. Blue fin Tuna? No actually Cruz Azal FC... Have you heard of them? Oh that's right, you wouldn't know anything about the number 1 clubs in their respective confederations..... I think they actually went to a Club World Cup... but through Oceania, so that doesn't really count haha.
