Wanderers 3-0 Jets. Outstanding performance from the girls, dominant from start to finish. Sarah Walsh getting a brace, her first goals for the club.

Her first a good finish from the edge of the box after a cut back from Trudy Camileri, her 2nd was the result of some nice interplay down the left hand side with Swede import Louise Fors being released and sending in an inch perfect cross for Walsh to head in at the far post. Candace Sciberras got the 3rd, and her first W-League goal on her debut in the last few minutes of injury time volleying in the rebound after Cameleri's shot was saved.

That's 4 games in a row without loss for the girls and they move up to 3rd on the table level on points with both Sydney FC and Brisbane.

I was lucky enough to have to step in for another photographer for the game, so I got a slightly closer view and a 2-shades-darker tan/sunburn at the same time. If you were there and saw a bloke with a Wanderers jersey under his Photographers vest, that was me.

The girls were great, especially playing in that heat - it was just touching +40c on the pitch. Both Thora Helgadottir & Lollo Fors found the going a bit tough, but both played the full 90 and Fors was in great form.

Anyway, here's the pics.

Man I went and played futsal at fairfield at 5pm, worst decision ever. Kudos to anyone who managed to actually get through a competitive game yesterday, ****ing ridiculous heat.

It was baking! I drank over 3 litres of water in the 6 hours I was there and it was barely enough - and I was just watching and taking photos!

Good thing they had drinks breaks mid-way through each half of both games.
