MathyouWSW Posted April 22, 2022 Posted April 22, 2022 I had a check and pretty sure the average age for the White Eagles squad was around 25-26 as they have a few players in their early/mid 30's. Personally, that doesn't mean anything. The White Eagles have some good players but the Wanderers should win this. I think it'll be a close score, I'll say 2-1 I'll definitely try and watch it tomorrow.
MathyouWSW Posted April 23, 2022 Posted April 23, 2022 FT: Wanderers 2 - White Eagles 2 I have to admit, it felt weird to see the White Eagles play in their away kit which consists of a Navy Blue and then their Logo/numbers/sponsors are in a red compared to their usually kit which is a red top, blue shorts and white socks which I usually see them in. The Wanderers dominant from the start of the whistle and had possession in the White Eagles. They also managed to get a lot corner kicks early in the game. In the 5th minute, Mark Natta provided a nice pass to Aiden Mostofi who had a break from the defence but was managed to be stopped by White Eagles defender Jack Kuipers to make the ball go out for a corner kick. The 7th minute saw Connor Rose get the ball to Mostofi who was on the outside wing for a sprint. Mostofi went for a cross along the field to which the a White Eagles defender managed to kick it out. Daniel Wilmering tried to get a foot on the ball but lucky to miss it to cause the Wanderers to have another corner. In the 10th minute, a lob pass to from a Wanderers player call the ball connected to Connor Rose on the wing. Rose tried to have a shot a goal but was stopped by White Eagles defender Jarrad Wiley which also went out for a corner. The Wanderers managed to get the first goal in the 15th minute. Connor Rose kicked the ball to Daniel Wilmering, a White Eagles defender tried to head it back but completely missed it which caused Wilmering to get the ball and pass it to Jakov Malbasa. Malbasa decided to have a shot at goal which caused three White Eagles players to try and stop the ball, Malbasa saw an opening for Alex Baldolato so Melbasa passed it to him and Baldolato kicked it in the back of the net. After this, White Eagles decided to switch on and decided to play. In the 27th Minute, White Eagles midfielder Sean Eve tried to have a shot at goal but was stopped by Isaac Hovar. Around the 33rd minute, White Eagles forward Aaron Peterson decided to have a shot from outside the box, the attempt made Jack Warshawsky dive and easily defended the ball, it was the White Eagles first attempt that had to be stopped by the Wanderers defender. In the 37th minute, the White Eagles managed to get a breakaway with Aaron Peterson getting the ball, Peterson decided to take a shot at goal but was stopped by Mark Natta, the ball managed to roll towards the corner and was then easily picked up by the Wanderers to gain possession. The Wanderers got the second goal just before the end of the first half. The goal started from a Wanderers corner kick. Wilmering took the corner shot and decided to have a shot corner kick to Alex Badolato, Badolato managed to get pass a White Eagles player and take a shot at goal which was deflected, the ball managed to go back into Wilmering who decided to lob the ball into the box, Mark Natta managed to get possession of the ball and did a header to have the Wanderers be ahead 2-0. The second half saw the Wanderers go from great to bad. In the 60th minute the ball went to Aaron Peterson who had a breakaway to the goal, Alex Bonetig decided to push him over which made the referee had no option but to give a red card to him causing the Wanderers to go down to 10 men. From then onwards, the White Eagles getting the upper hand of the Wanderers. After many attempts at goal that were on target and getting many corners, the White Eagles managed to finally get on board in the 73rd minute. Sean Eve managed to get a cross to Radovan Pavicevic who passed the ball to Aaron Peterson who was unmarked and tapped the ball into the net to make it 2-1. The Wanderers looked to have sealed the 3 points but only for the White Eagles to cause heartache and get an equaliser in the 92nd minute. Brandon Stojcevski had the ball and did a cross into the 16 yard box, Marie Gauthier headed the ball to Asmir Kadric who was unmarked and easily slotted the ball in the back of the net. The after the 94th minute, the ref blew the whistle which ended the game 2-2 thus making the Wanderers NPL squad claim their first draw of the season. Tonight's draw makes the Wanderers NPL squad sit on 5th with 10 points. 9 points away from Northern Tigers who are still undefeated The Wanderers NPL will play Hakoah FC next Saturday (30th April) at Hensley Athletic Field.
