    While insisting that he and coach Tony Popovic will have the bulk of the 23-man squad in place when pre-season kicks off on June 25, Gorman – the former A-League boss – maintains they will not be rushed in making poor judgement calls on the multitude of talent being dangled in front of them.

     

    He has also ruled out throwing money at a marquee signing, adding that the name as yet without a name, a ground or colours will be constructed well within the $2.6 million salary cap.

     

    Two players linked with the club (Sydney FC’s Mark Bridge and Dimitri Petratos) have not signed. According to Gorman and there and no talks pending and representatives for both players – currently under contract for a further season each with the Sky Blues – confirmed they would be staying out when contacted by the World Game.â€

    “You can’t rush into making calls on that score. We have a passionate football family in western Sydney who want to be engaged and want to feel a part of the club.

    “For that to happen all players, coaching and staff need to be a part of community programs. There’s no point in us bringing in any prima donna players who aren’t going to be prepared to embrace that and mix the fans, sign autographs, go out to schools, work with charities and talking with business people, having fans days and gala days and connecting with the kids."

     

    Still making all the right noises.

    Agreed MattyB that sounds fine by me.

    I do wish they'd annouce the name, colours, possibly playing strip and home ground soon though!

    I know mate, cant wait to see some colours and a name. I got all worked up last week when they announced popa, now i'm just trying to forget about it so it comes faster, like i did as a kid a month out from my birthday lol.

     

    In the end though, the stuff Lyalls spouting there is just as, if not more important so i'm glad to see its being said consistently and constantly.

    Need to know what is the delay with colours and name cmon guys lets get it out there so we know who & what we are supporting!!
