eZZa Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 I follow the F1, but will watch anything with a motor going round, in a straight line or whatever the base may be. Normally catch Bathurst and used to watch the Gold Coast Indy when it was on. But I am happy to watch whatever motor sport is on if I am not busy with something else, kinda the same way as football for me, I will watch any game anywhere in the world and I am happy. =)
Neverbloom Posted April 13, 2012 Author Posted April 13, 2012 same here, i do watch nascar and support Ambrose, i grew up with road/street courses and race on road courses(only karting and its mostly only for fun) so i do rather road/street courses but i also really enjoy ovals also, there has been some really exciting indycar races on ovals and i never miss a second of bathurst i am kinda obsessed with that circuit
Cleveland Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 love the v8 supercars , but my passion is drag racing when it comes to motorsport
Neverbloom Posted April 14, 2012 Author Posted April 14, 2012 i been to a drag racing event near eastern creek at one point, you can feel the vibrations throughout your body, i also watch alot of sprint cars and such at sydney speedway(formally known as paramatta raceway) not as exciting to me but its still pretty good
Tim Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 F1, Great to see Nico Rosberg get his first win...Awesome race to watch too.
charonis Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 This season in F1 has been great so far. The races haven't been boring at all with plenty of good racing, overtaking and things to talk about. Very much looking forward to the rest of the season. Such a shame about Schuey though. I really want to see him get on the podium again.
TWayServiceCrew Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 I vary depending on the weekend... V8 supertaxi's of course, I also help a mate compete in the state sports sedan series and navigate for another mate in the AMSAG rally series.. We're firing up the newly rebuilt escort and hitting the forest this weekend for: http://www.amsag.com.au/amsag-cms/files/Spectator_instructions_Sunny_Corner_2012_Web[1].pdf
Neverbloom Posted April 18, 2012 Author Posted April 18, 2012 i agree about formula one being so exciting this year, i hope schuey gets one more win if possible(and i think it is) he deserves it imo, and good luck TWayServiceCrew that is great how much your involved in motorsport, i have done one karting series and that is it(came third on really old tires so i was happy with that)
Neverbloom Posted August 31, 2012 Author Posted August 31, 2012 sorry for the massive bump but formula one is finally back 4 week break is way too much now we have to sit through spa and monza though pity but its still motor racing anyways
Messinese Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Woo, love my F1!!! Forza Alonso and Ferrari. I also watch the MotoGP. Will be good to see Rossi back at Yamaha next year and see if he can challenge for the title.

Benched Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Massive F1 and V8 fan here. Generally actually love all motorsport. Can't stand Sebastian Beiber (although I will admit he has talent). Ambrose has been annoying to watch because he is soooo close to actually being a great NASCAR driver. However not sure if it's the early morning telecast or the ovals that put me to sleep. The V8's this year have been enthralling and with COTF and NISSAN coming back, the sport has a massive future. ( AUDI, BMW and MERC are still in negotiations to enter) Saddened to hear of Casey's retirement. Laugh at what little impact Rossi has had at Ducati. He'd better challenge for the title next year or his rep has gone down the drain. Love getting down my local Speedway here in Goulburn. Was brought up going to Parra and Liverpool Speedway. Also I'm spoilt with Wakefield Park Raceway here and all the events they get.
TWayServiceCrew Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 We do several events a year at Wakefield Park... great venue. If we get the car built in time we will be running in a support catagory at the Bathurst 12 hour next year which we're really looking forward to.
TWayServiceCrew Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 yeah will do... won't be until next year though as we are upgrading the sports sedan. The floor panned escort is being replaced with a space framed fibreglass supra
Neverbloom Posted August 31, 2012 Author Posted August 31, 2012 must be exciting to do some actual racing, i done racing in go karting but that hardly counts, i heard great things about wakefield park, i wish i could race at bathurst.........but i think i would be too scared
Davo Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 I'm a huge F1 fan and I usually make the trip down to Melbourne for the race. I'm a big Ferrari fan so I'm hoping Alonso can hang on for the title although I think McLaren and Lotus are coming on strong and Red Bull were always quick so it'll be tight. On the one hand they'll be taking points off each other which is good considering the lead in the Championship Alonso has but on the other hand if the Ferrari is slightly off the pace he could end up behind 6 cars and scoring bugger all points. It should be exciting.

I spent a lot of my early 20's doing hot laps around Bathurst in whichever car I owned at the time. Pretty stupid really considering its a 60 km/h - 2 way street.

The first time you hear the cars go past you get blown away by how bloody loud they are. The first time I saw them I was half way around the track from the pits and when they all fired up the engines in the pits for the practice session and even that was loud I knew it was going to be epic. Plus Albert Park being a street circuit means you get really close to the cars, at some parts you're less than 10m from them. It's a lot harder to keep track of the strategy and what's going on in the race unless you're near a big screen or you rent one of the hand held screens because once the field spreads out you can't hear the trackside commentary at all, still I just record it and watch it at home afterwards. The atmosphere is really good there as well and most people are pretty knowledgeable about the sport. The first year I went I rented a hand held tv and a group of Brazilians set up behind me. They were huge Barrichello fans and were constantly asking me how 'Rubinho' was going, they were completely mental.
TWayServiceCrew Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 i was at Mt Panorama when Jensen Button has his F1 up there it was so fast down conrod the helicopter couldn't catch it. The sound was outrageous, the echo off the concrete walls was creating a wave of sound that pulsated....

I remember lapping Mt Panorama in my Range Rover. It was fully set up for 4WDing. Stroker V8, Rancho lift kit, quickshift auto etc. Lapped it with the missus, complete with a canoe on the roof and the 2 dogs on the back seat. One of the dogs hurled as we went down Conrod.

LOL - I've done a sub 3 minute lap in a 308 HJ Ute that was scary, my arsehole was clenching and unclenching that fast it was trying to chew a hole in the seat

Neverbloom Posted September 2, 2012 Author Posted September 2, 2012 Amazing formula one race, i really hate to say it but Vettel drove the best race today, STR drivers actually got some points for a change, and scary start crash now to see Will Power win the indycar championship i hope
DiscoD Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Awesome race!! I thought Patrese was excellent, so too Vettel & Webber. Button was supreme though
