I commend the commentators that spend the time to learn and memorise the names of foreign teams that they will only need to probably know for one game.

 

I know it's their job, but still, they could easily just not do it.

 

Agreed but its technically two games in this case.

Our ground announcer has to do it all the time and doesn't bother learning them.

Agreed but its technically two games in this case.

Unless we have different commentators for the return leg.

I'm sure a schedule would be known so that commentators prepare.

As I write this I realise commentators would probably take both legs for this reason.

exactly! this shite all year in all games. Our free kick options need a kick in the arse. Lose too much field position by not moving forward.

Have to say, he nailed all names in his capacity as the ground announcer in Newcastle.  Maybe someone told him about the furious discussions about our displeasure on these forums.
