After the forum i asked Lyall when memberships will go on sale. He said mid June.

I suggested that they allocate local clubs 100 -300 memberships for the clubs to sell to their members. That way people can all sit together, familes, wives, friends etc and it will be a great way for others to attract friend into the social occassion.

Lyall seemed to like thta but maye he was being nice.

Can someone post a detailed summary of what was said last night?

This is what I planned to speak about.

I covered the first 3 topics in my spiel, Culture, Style & Community Engagement.

I choose to leave the home grounds issue for others to address.

I provided Lyall with a copy of this document at the conclusion of the meeting.

WSF Fan Forum #3 @ Rooty Hill

    Culture

    * Open Door Policy - Welcoming, inclusive, respectful of every individual’s potential contribution.

    * Recognition - NSWPL Clubs, District Associations & Local Football Clubs.

    * Nurture + Foster Youth - Our kids are our future. IMO we don’t need short term guest signings or nomadic players seeking a boost to their superannuation fund.

    * Sincerity - Loyalty is a two way street. Were in this, Boots & All, for the long haul.

    * Tribal – WSF versus the Rest. One mission = One goal. Smurfs will know we have arrived.

    Style

    * Enterprise - Fluent ball movement, pleasing to the eye.

    * Instinctive – Forward thinking. We’ll put more balls in your onion bag, than you’ll put in ours.

    * Desire – No primadonnas. We get knocked down we get up again. Fight in the dog!

    * Community Coaching – Reflect FFA courses which emphasis core structure 1 - 4 - 3 - 3.

    Community Engagement – Ownership Model

    * Ownership Model - Foundation Members be given the opportunity to invest in the club in 2 or 3 years. Purchase of shares (“A†class with voting rights) and or bonds, debentures, unsecured notes etc. which return a dividend and may be either sold back to club at their future value or passed on to future generations.

    Home Ground(s)

    * External Users – Playing in summer months is a distinct advantage, exclusive use. Optimum playing surface is paramount. NO concerts, Moto Cross or other external users that may impact on the playing surface. Injuries are often caused by negligence or stupidity (overuse).

    * Scheduling – Communicate with other codes. Negotiate the scheduling of games to blend with NRL clubs. Alternate the use of ground on weekends in March & April annually. Using facilities for both codes within 24 hours is farcical bordering on ludicrous. Field markings look atrocious on T.V.

    * Home Games - The total experience would include curtain raisers involving or Youth and or Ladies squads. 5 of 35 teams (approx. 15%) at my local club are dedicated girls / ladies teams.

    Thanks for the summary Taurus.

It seems things are progressing along and we are getting a lot of constructive ideas with these forums. I hope they implement it correctly.

I would love to see WS as the model for expansion.

Also like the idea of community ownership. I was thinking whether the NSWPL clubs should have a stake in the WS team as well... Even if its just 20%, that way they get a cut of any profit on transfers etc...

Just a reminder my radio segment is on tomorrow at around 9:30am on alive 90.5. There was 1 question i havent heard anyone ask, and that is the brand of the strip, i mean having someone like ISC or Hummel would be a cheaper option, but generally I would rather a nike or adidas, preferably nike. Any thoughts

HIghly doubt we'll get much of a say in this tbh... best offer that comes in relatively quickly will be what the FFA takes up I would imagine.

Correction, make that no say at all ... there's a fairt bit of stuff that will get fed into the FFA's marketing machine that will be spat out again not quite the way it went in. Brace yourselves for that one ...

Oh I agree ... I am talking about fine detail stuff, broad scale stuff like basics of team name and colours sure ... specific designs of kits and logo's and what brands for kits etc ... very likely not.
