Team Colour & Kit Poll

Nice crest from Donnypool, but I think it's the one thing that has been missing from the discussion. It seems like West Sydney Wanderers playing in red and black from Parramatta is the most common choice, but very little on the crest/logo. My initial thought was a stone axe/tomahawk for the original inhabitants from the land but that hasn't got much love. I also liked the idea of a ram from the next inhabitants of the land. Also heard something for the Light Horsemen which could be OK. Another suggestion was an aboriginal with a spear, but I thought that was too much like the old Parramatta Eels logo, or a simple big W which I thought looked like a Westfields logo.

Is the logo/crest not really important or should it be discussed?

It should be but it's less easy to get a consensus on the "type" of logo I think. We could all come up with a logo and they'd all be different, unlike colours or kit or even name.

I want to see bold colours, no arty-farty photoshopped mixtures of things where black melds into red or whatever.

I like a circular logo with the colours as they will be on our kit (stripes or hoops). The name clearly around the circle.

Also we are probably least likely to be voting or have a significant say on logo... Maybe

word has it yes. but inroads need to be made soon if that timeline is to be followed. final survey needs to come out soon

lets hope they don't announce on sunday that name of the team is gonna be Sporting Pulse United or western wombat strikers.

Enjoying the debate and cant wait to hear what we are going to be called. IMO I think it'll be monday week. Next week will be Origin saturated so we wont get any air in the media, but this is how I see it being played out

I would imagine that the away jersey would be something similar to that. Would think that it will be majority white.

This came up at the bankstown forum. Gorman mentioned how white away strips didn't come up well on tv, especially for identifying the club. However that was when all the clubs had white away strips.

Mate enjoying your contribution and I for one believe we need to have a predominately white strip option, particularly for occasions when its extremely hot.

However, on the other hand, you are asking us to forget its a Man U strip. Sorry champ can't help you out there.

Also isn't black and red the colours of a number of the associations as opposed to a number of teams.

There a number of interpretations as to why Black, Red & White would be the best colours for WSFC.

They were the colours chosen by the ill fated West Sydney Wanderers bid team, so many have an implied affinity with them.

Black and Red is the complete opposite to the Blue and White of Bling FC.

Black and White were the colours of the 1st Association in the region - Granville District.

But I prefer this take on the colours - Black and White covers everyone who is either indiginous or has immigrated to this country and red represents the blood we are prepared to spill in pursuit of our common goals.
