It's just the way things are for the Women & Youth league threads because of how the database is setup.

Would it ever be possible in the future for them to play these matches as a Pre-game to the men's match.

It seems like a good idea but I've read somewhere that Popa does not want the ground touched before the game. (Someone will need to confirm this)

Yeah it'll never happen for WSW.  Which is really disappointing.

I believe it's also the added costs of hiring Parramatta Stadium for longer, AND security for the longer hours.

Especially since we know it's happened for other clubs, double header with wander women before hand which is a shame.

We need to establish WSWTV to enable members to watch our W-League & NYL games.

Something along the lines of LFCTV, http://www.liverpoolfc.com/video, would be ideal & affordable for passionate members

I think that would be somewhat of a dream to have in the next 10-20 years. It's just a shame that the club at this stage of its overall development seem keen to keep costs down at every opportunity that things such as w-league/a-league double headers and streaming capabilities of preseason matches aren't a priority.

I guess the FFA and now the owners are more interested in keeping the club on a stable financial footing which is important for the long term sustainability of the wanderers. This has obviously come off the lessons learnt from previous failed a-league teams such as GCU and the NQF.

The costs of hiring the stadium for an additional 3+ hours are too high. Plus the aforementioned desire to keep the pitch tidy (the NRL stomping around on it is bad enough) prior to matches.

Melbourne City don't have a W-League team, other W-League teams have pretty much nothing to do with their A-League clubs apart from the name (being run by state federations), WSW have it all in-house.

I guess the FFA and now the owners are more interested in keeping the club on a stable financial footing which is important for the long term sustainability of the wanderers.

Also a desire to keep the costs of supporting the Wanderers low. If the club makes losses, the owners can either pay for it themselves, or recover that cost the next season through increased pricing.

And CCM, and Newcastle, and Perth, etc etc with pretty much every club in the league making losses that have to be absorbed by their owners and supporters.

I'd be happy to pay say $50 extra each year on top of my membership dues, to be able to watch streams of all games & extra content on the WSWTV channel.

I expect our club could sell several thousand subsciptions each year, to such a service.

Why not consider them playing after the men? This avoids pitch damage before the a league match. The crowd is already there and surely more would stay than would arrive early if they played first. The increased crowd might then cover the extra stadium hire costs?

Probably something to do with broadcasting agreements, but on first glance - not a bad idea at all.

If we had a 5pm kick-off for the A-League match, then surely a 7pm kick-off for the ladies wouldn't be half bad

IMO, its more practical for our YL & WL teams to play home double headers than it is for the ladies to play on the same day, at the same venue as the HAL squad.

There is no potential for increased crowds at our home games at Wanderland, because they are vitual sellouts every week. To pay significantly greater hirage costs, just doesn't make good business sense.

Would love to see that happen, every season.

5-2 down in the 74th minute.

I think the W-League team needs us more than ever...

on the plus side:

someone get the w-league team to teach the a-league team how to score more than one goal in a match :ninja:

Melbourne Victory are apparently spending approx 100k on their multimedia crew / production costs involved with MVFC TV.

Our club have indicated that atm their hands are tied by FFA who insist all official content is hosted on or available via their website.

Heres' an example of what MVFC TV are capable of producing.
