Now the point of this is to civilly discuss our main rivals, and have open chat about Sydney FC (ESDPFCPBW) and their squad this season. Interesting point that Del Piero will increase their fans, which I'm sure it will, but how will they go on the pitch? Lot of talk that SFC will now front the odds for winners of the comp, what do we all think about this? is that going to far? This thread is for proper discussion only. Act like a child and your comment is off... civil discussions please lads.

On another note a great signing for the A-League, if he has a successful time perhaps he can convince a few others to come over and leave a legacy!

I can only imagine this will spur wanderers management to make a huge signing come next season, big marquee signing etc. Apart from that the Derby this season will be huge with this guy heading the team. The italian community will come in force..

If we beat them with a bunch of nobodies imagine how much it will hurt . They have all the pressure now and we are the underdogs. It is a good positon to be in. Just hope popa is training them hard. They will have more bums on seats but the attendances will die down over the season

Its signs of weakness.. Shows that without a superstar .. Esfc would die a terrible death.. Makes me cringe, the thought of del piero.. In a sky blue jersey.. Yuck

Davo Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 Winning the league because of one player is a bit a of a stretch. While I don't want it to happen, he's 37 and could easily get injured. Plus he has to perform in spite of some players around him, as has been mentioned. With less fans and members, how will you win off the field even if your team can beat their team? By creating a better atmosphere and singing louder and with more passion. The quality of fans is important too, not just the number.

Sydney FC fans are still in Sydney if walking through Parramatta. Don't want to see anyone get jumped, abused or spitten on because they have the different coloured shirt. I bet most fans are sensible enough but if you have a few drinks, its easy to lose your common sense and think its funny to become abusive to someone else. It doesn't make football experience very fun to get abused don't you think?

Like happens in Melbourne, there needs to be a police escort for fans because of the violence abuse heaped upon them by Victory fans. A derby passionate like Sydney will become could see a similar scene hit the streets. I hope at Parramatta and also at Moore Park, there's none of this activity but I fear it'll be some.

Of course no one wants to see people acting like violent dicks. Maybe try talking about the positives for once, like the big crowds, the passion or the players. To the topic at hand. I think this will be a great chance for Mooy to stand up and show what he's made of. The exposure of Sydney FC signing Del Piero is going to be massive for this match! I had big hopes before but the Derbys should be sellouts.
