Normal service resumed, comfortable victory for the Boro at home to Bolton and a comfortable defeat for Leeds away lowly Brighton. I did wonder if Leeds could sustain the kind of committed performance they showed at the Boro.

Norwich City are flying at the moment! They look unbeatable.

How's Ryan Fredericks coming along?

Getting very tight at the top !!

4 teams on 66 points, who knows who will get the top two spots, increasingly thinking it won't be the Boro  :nono:

Ayala is back soon though from injury and we look solid as when he plays.

big game tonight boro. early kickoff for your lot too mate - makes it easier.

1-0 after 4 min  :good:

An injury to the Ipswich keeper a dead ringer for what happened to the Evergrande keeper at Parra.

Make that 1-1

Okay Boro the Championship world didn't fully turn on its head this weekend but maybe when your mob plays us midweek it will albeit that we were fortunate to pinch a point against Norwich.

I would take draw at Derby, and I think it will be a draw. A defeat wouldn't be a disaster for the Boro, I think a defeat would hurt Derby much more however.

D***by are on the slide......

Hard to say, this is a crazy championship season, Bournemouth lost form and fell away a month or so ago and now they are back on top again!

Yeah, Leeds have good support, and so they should for such a big city! You have to remember that Middlesbrough is only a small town and it was calculated that as a percentage Middlesbrough is the best supported side by it's locals in England, the size of population of Middlesbrough  combined with attendances figures is impressive. If Leeds had the same percentage of Leeds locals turning out for games as Middlesbrough they would get over 100,000 every game.

Being near the top of the championship helps of course, but generally Middlesbrough fans always travel well, it was the home attendances that really suffered in the bad few years we have had.

What a massive result that is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Derby County 0 - 1 Boro :yahoo:  :yahoo:  :yahoo: :yahoo:

Sounded like a WSW performance from the first two seasons, grab a goal and defend like a bastard! Sounds like Derby threw everything at us but couldn't break through, Derby had most of the possession, but job done. Is that the end of Derby's auto promotion aspirations? Not sure but it is a BIG blow to them.

The big games don't stop for the Boro though as away to Bournemouth next! After the win tonight I would take a point down there Saturday, a point would keep us in the top two now.

***** I am getting nervous

Damn not united ! I thought the game ended in a scoreless draw and logged to post to then read Boro's write up. Damn this isn't good.

You have a MASSIVE game Friday night away to Wolves, could be your season on the line right there.

hmmm that argument sounds familiar. is that you lawrie mckinna??? :)

Leeds always win the away attendance and most hated club tables. Hard to decide which one I am more proud of.

Another 4500 travelled on a week night and took over craven cottage. God help you all if by some miracle we actually become good again! Lol.

That will partly be down to Leeds supporter south, there is a Boro supporters south  group also. Many northern teams have a resident fan base around London due to moving down there for work. Even when Boro were doing poorly the away fixtures in London bucked the trend.

That wasn't much fun. Who would have thought that the Wanderers were going to be responsible for putting such a nail into our promotion dreams. Boro once again read it for what it is.

COME ON BORO!

If your looking for a game to watch right now you could do worse than tuning in to Bournemouth v Boro which will start in 10 mins or so.

I think Boro might get beaten here, massive game!

Yeah, after 30 odd years supporting the Boro I can pick them quite well lol

If someone had told me a few weeks back that we would have taken 6 points from the run of games -  Ipswich, Derby and Bournemouth then I would have taken them. That was 3 games in a row against teams in the top 6 (Ipswich were at the time) and two of them away from home. 6 points is an acceptable return.

As it turns out the damage is limited, Watford lost so 3rd on goal difference only and only 1 point off the top going in to the international break with a few home games to come.

Disappointing as I was really hoping for a point, but not a disaster by any means.

Derby have bigger issues however, must win next game for you mob otherwise you risk missing the play offs also! It is Derby at home to Watford next for you so we need a favor please! Also Bournemouth go to Ipswich whilst Boro are at home to Wigan.

typical leeds this season  - take points off top teams struggle against bottom feeders.

ah well - safe from relegation which was looking very dicey a few weeks ago.

the championship has the competitive balance that top leagues around the world can only dream of. average quality of football at times but nothing between probably 15 of the teams in terms of ability.

An honorable mention for Hartlepool United who are propping up the entire football league, they are just over the River Tees from the Boro. They were around 12 points adrift a few months back and have now recovered to just the 1 point. Given themselves a chance :good:

Bournemouth have never been in the top flight. Will be a massive achievement if they do but amazingly the likes of Wimbledon, Oxford, Luton, Carlisle and Oldham have also been there since I followed the game !!
