I think he has better potential than Aspro does after that ACL injury.

Serious question....what are "contracts" actually worth in the world of football?

Depends on the country you're playing in. If you're in a foreign country in Eastern Europe or Asia the contracts are barely worth the paper they are written on, and even if you're actually playing, getting paid isn't a guarantee. If a club doesn't want you anymore they just stop paying you and force you out of first team training. Good luck getting anything further, all you can look forward to is leaving in the next transfer window.

In Australia, Tongyik was probably offered a payout of the rest of the season and took it.

Nothing to do with Raul (who has to go to) if we ended up playing Tongyik at left back we would be even more screwed.

Clearly Babbel thinks Tass is a better prospect and needs the squad spot

Cordier is a better prospect for left back. Tass is a centreback.

Tongyik was always an odd signing to me, especially when we let aspro go, who is a better player

Tongyik was a Gumby signing who was supposed to be the ball-playing centreback.  Most likely why Aspro was ditched.

Llorente was gone if Gumby has been retained.

Aspro was released because he suffered a major injury. He's only just got back into training.

Aspro has played 2 NYL games for the mariners. 

I remember he got kicked by the Heartle$$ NYL keeper in last season's NYL grandfinal which I believe was the cause of the injury.

Hopefully we can offload Fitzgerald to them as well 

22 years young, and has been with four HAL clubs in as many years. Last season not able to break into 8th placed wsw squad, could not convince 9th placed roar, and has now made it to the central coast wooden spooners - the hall marks of a football career that is going nowhere fast. Enough said.

The theory at the time was that Gombau failed, by finishing 7th because he inherited Popa's squad, and if he had his own he would have been top 6.

After seeing the signings he made, it's may be true that Gombau finished 7th because he inherited Popa's squad, but if he had his own he would have finished lower.

O'Doherty has turned out to be the best of signings, until his leg fell off.
