nisman94wfc Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Only a few more weeks left until the start if the season. Everyone getting excited? Yep. Can't wait for it. Although I'm pissed that I'll probably have to go to Norwich away on my one's as my mate is being forced to go to a wedding -.- Ticket prices are outrageous for teams who've just come down from the Prem as well, Norwich charging us £35! And we're not even the top category! Out of interest, what's your normal ticket prices for away games?
IronHaggis Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 Somewhere between $20 and $25 from memory. We don't have segregation in grounds either, although there are designated away sections. Don't understand how Norwich can be so much, other than coming down from the Premier League do any team other than Ipswich really give a toss about them?

Don't understand how Norwich can be so much, other than coming down from the Premier League do any team other than Ipswich really give a toss about them? $20 and $25 dollars?!?! I'd love it if we had prices like that. The bare minimum I'd be paying is $28 and that's because I'm a student. If the away stadium I'm going to doesn't do student concessions then it's roughly £30. Still it could be worse, Norwich rinsed their own fans of £55 when the big boys came to town in the Prem. And don't get me started on what Arsenal forces their fans to pay if Chelsea come to town... As for Norwich, it really is because they've just come down from the Prem. We're their first home match of the season (2nd game of the season) and they must have banked on it being a sell out. They'll probably charge teams like Leeds or Wednesday £40 I guess

The championship - the place where criminals, crooks and the mentally ill get to own a football club.
IronHaggis Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 Blackpool should be more worried about getting people in. At this stage they'll need Oyston playing for them.
IronHaggis Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 I paid £22 8 years ago when I went to Hillsborough to watch Wednesday. I imagine that the prices have gone up since. Premier League teams have no need to put tickets up so high. Money from ticket sales is insignificant to what they get in TV money. Prydzopolis 1

Premier League teams have no need to put tickets up so high. Money from ticket sales is insignificant to what they get in TV money. Leeds United are charging Boro fans 39 pounds for an away ticket for the televised game coming up. I have been to the Elland Road away corner a number of times and the sight lines are shite and no leg room pus over zealous stewards. Many Boro fans will go due to it being a local game but those prices are a ***** rip off for a championship game. But then away fans have been getting ripped off for years in the championship. nisman94wfc, braad, Prydzopolis and 1 other 4
Smoggy Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 (edited) Blackpool should be more worried about getting people in. At this stage they'll need Oyston playing for them. Hopeful we might actually get some points at Blackpool this season, Blackpool are our bogey team. For some reason whenever Blackpool play Middlesbrough they come out pumped up and play out of their **** skins, we own them more than one. Also the local police refuse to have Blackpool v Middlesbrough on a Saturday and at the start or end of the season. Always a Tuesday night in winter as the cops are worried about the Boro lads messing the place up. I think Boro have been there enough times now without trouble for them to be given a chance at a Saturday game not in the middle of winter. Edited July 23, 2014 by WSWBoro

There's been plenty of rumours going around that Riga has left after disagreements with Oyston. Not sure how true this is as these rumours have been on and off for the past month now but the situation there is just beyond dire. They look sure-fire for relegation and 6 points. Having said that though, we have a shite record against them so odds are we'll only get 1 point off them from both games -.-
IronHaggis Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Wednesday's takeover by Mammadov has been delayed due to pressing business issues for Mammadov. Apparently we have missed out on some targets because if this. Looks like another season of loans and last minute deals.
Guest ZipGunBop Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Hey lads. Here we go again. Turn your pm on!
lloydy136 Posted July 28, 2014 Author Posted July 28, 2014 Indeed zola. Let the 46 round pub fight that is the championship commence! Wednesday's takeover by Mammadov has been delayed due to pressing business issues for Mammadov. Apparently we have missed out on some targets because if this. Looks like another season of loans and last minute deals.Do you want mammadov to buy the club ih?
IronHaggis Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 We need someone to buy it, Manadaric is not willing to make the investment needed to make a real push. Mammadov has stakes in 4 other clubs (RC Lens, FC Baku, Atletico Madrid and I think the other is Porto) so I don't see it as we will be some play thing for a rich businessman and we have gotten a very good sponsorship deal due to his connections to the Azerbaijani government. I believe when Mandaric says he wants to sell to the right person as he doesn't want to be associated with another disaster like Portsmouth and he believes Mammadov is the right person. But there have been rumours in terms of liquidity of assets etc. So I'm unsure if we are going to get the investment as hoped, but can't see it as leaving us worse off. In short I'll say yes.
lloydy136 Posted July 31, 2014 Author Posted July 31, 2014 That all sounds pretty reasonable to me. Its a sad indictment on modern football that we all have to hope for some wacky owner to come along and be prepared to spunk 20 mil just to get to the pl let alone stay there but thats where its at. Also looks like your lot has signed tom lees. Reckon he will do great. He was looking like a future star until colin scapegoated him and destroyed his confidence. Big chance change of scenery will see him get back on track.
IronHaggis Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 It's always easy to make a scapegoat out of young backs and sometimes all they need is the change of scenery. He will have Loovens next to him, so they should help him along nicely.
lloydy136 Posted August 9, 2014 Author Posted August 9, 2014 I don't think I have ever gone into a season with such a high level of fear and sense of impending doom as I do right now.
Taurus Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Taggart has an abdominal injury & will miss Fulham's opening game.
lloydy136 Posted August 10, 2014 Author Posted August 10, 2014 as expected a depressing start to the season. limp performance, clueless manager, selling best players, being forced to tolerate jimmy saville and galatasaray chants from millwall fans, leeds fans yelling at each other on social media. the new normal really. on the plus side watched the cardiff/rovers game and it was great. plenty of action typical fast paced chances at both ends champ game.
IronHaggis Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Great start by Wednesday. 1-0 away from home against Brighton. I bet Leeds lost because a 17 year old fan was wearing purple jocks. lloydy136 1
Taurus Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Chatham Town FC won, thats all that matters. http://chathamtownfc.info/
Smoggy Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 (edited) Good solid start for the Boro with a comfortable 2-0 win over Birmingham. Boro's first opening day win to a season since 2008! Perhaps cause for optimism at last................... we hall see, early days. as expected a depressing start to the season. limp performance, clueless manager, selling best players, being forced to tolerate jimmy saville and galatasaray chants from millwall fans, leeds fans yelling at each other on social media. the new normal really. on the plus side watched the cardiff/rovers game and it was great. plenty of action typical fast paced chances at both ends champ game. Boro convincing opening day winners and looking very good Leeds in total turmoil as usual. All signs point to only one outcome next weekend................................................ Leeds United thrashing the Boro, that kind of thing always happens to us Edited August 10, 2014 by WSWBoro lloydy136 1
IronHaggis Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Blackpool were only able to name 4 on the bench against Forest. It will be a miracle if they manage to stay up. I think we are going to be in for a great season. There are so many teams that I believe would be capable of getting promotion and not to mention there is usually a surprise package or two up there. Plus the comedy that Leeds and Blackpool will bring this season will be great. nmh94 1
Smoggy Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 (edited) Dirty Leeds v Boro is a 9:30pm kick off Australian time I think so perfect Saturday evening viewing Edited August 11, 2014 by WSWBoro lloydy136 and MartinTyler 2
zola Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 How do you go about watching highlights? Access to Sky is geoblocked, and few games are on BT. (And I'm poor)
