Davo Posted June 21, 2024 Posted June 21, 2024 If FNSW want to ban crowds for the whole season then own it and announce it. Don’t be cowards and give one week bans each week for the rest of the season. StringerBellend, jockman, Wanderboy and 2 others 5

MathyouWSW Posted June 23, 2024 Posted June 23, 2024 SYDNEY FC MAKE WOEFUL WANDERERS SUFFER 4TH LOSS IN A ROW Sydney FC NPL squad would win 3-0 against the Wanderers NPL squad at Wanderers Football Park. The loss sees the Wanderers suffering their 4th loss in a row and slowly crumbling down the NSW NPL First Grade competition's ladder. The Wanderers would go into this game with three losses in a row while Sydney FC have been in form. In the past three games, Sydney FC got a win over St. George FC (2-1), a win over Hills United (3-1) and last week getting a draw against the Central Coast Mariners Academy (1-1). Sydney FC would get themselves on the board in the 14th minute as Jacob Brazete did a cross into the penalty box area, the ball was heading toward defender Ricky Franzen who decided to try and kick the ball away, but Franzen’s attempt would see him do an air swing and completely miss the ball. The ball would eventually go to Tiago Quintal on the right-hand side of the field and unmarked. Quintal would cut the ball back to Mathias MacAllister would score a goal making it his 4th goal in 4 games. The Wanderers would see their first opportunity to try and score not happening until the 31st minute. Oscar Fryer would receive the ball and did a pass to a Sydney FC defender that saw the ball travel too far. Dallo Sandy would intercept the ball and do a back pass to Luke Nieuwenhof. Nieuwenhof would try and fire a quick attempt at goal, but it was way too high and would go over the crossbar. A wasted opportunity for the Wanderers. Sydney FC had an opportunity to extend their lead in the 37th minute as Joseph Calusic would get a long pass to Tiago Quintal who was unmarked as Ryan Devine would off his line. Roman Culina tried to defend Quintal 1-on-1 but Quintal would outclass Culina, and dribble pass him with no issues at all. Quintal would then sprint towards the goal posts and had support with him as he would pass it to Oscar Fryer. Fryer tried to tap the ball in but missed. However, the ball would roll to Jacob Brazete who would try and attempt at goal but only for Lucas Sinnott to save the ball. Eventually, Ricky Fransen would kick the ball away to prevent Sydney FC from trying another attempt to score. Sydney FC would eventually extend their lead in the 40th minute as they received a corner kick and decided to go with a short corner kick. Quintal took the corner kick but only to kick the ball to Will Kennedy and then back to Quintal. Quintal would do a cross into the area with Oscar Fryer connecting to the cross and trying to head the ball into the back of the net. However, his attempt would just see the ball pop upwards in the air. The Wanderers thought the ball would go out for a goal kick but Fryer would kick the ball back into the area with majority of the Wanderers players ball watching, the ball would go to Mathias MacAllister who would get his second for the day. Mathias MacAllister almost got his hat-trick as the Wanderers lost possession of the ball near the middle of the field as Phillip Gigliotti would lose it with Mathias MacAllister getting the ball and linking up with Tiago Quintal to get a 1-2 pass while getting pass the Wanderers. MacAllister would fire a shot just outside the penalty box area, but it would just go wide. Sydney would get their third goal in the 67th minute. Oscar Fryer would set-up a pass that allowed Tiago Quintal to break pass the Wanderers back four with only Lucas Sinnott to beat, Quintal would put it into the back of the net with ease. The Wanderers almost gifted another goal to Sydney FC in the 79th minute as they had a free kick, Roman Culina and Ricky Fransen were passing the ball back forth and waiting for an opportunity to gain press forward while they were in their own half of the field. Fransen would do a pass to Culina that would see Culina not maintaining possession of the ball which allowed Ayouk Mow to immediately get the ball and set-up a breakaway. Luckily enough, Mow’s attempt at goal would be stopped by Lucas Sinnott but only for the ball to deflect off him and back to Mow who would have a second attempt to score. But. Sinnott would yet again stop Mow from scoring. It was a brilliant performance by Sinnott. Sydney FC would have another chance to try and score in the 81st as Ayouk Mow set up Pearson Kasawaya to sprint down the left side of the field, Kasawaya would set up a cross. The Wanderers defence were not even near the ball but yet again ball watching as Bailey Callaghan would connect to the cross and have an attempt at goal but Lucas Sinnott done a marvellous job of stopping Callaghan’s attempt at goal. The Wanderers last chance to try and score would be in the 92nd minute as Jesse Cameron would get a cross into the area, Sydney FC couldn’t clear the ball successfully, The ball would go to Marcus Fernandez who would try an attempt at goal. But his attempt would deflect off a Sydney FC defender. A few moments later, referee Sam Kelly has blown the whistle. As Sydney FC would win 3-0 as the Wanderers suffered their 4th loss in a row. This may come across as harsh, but Roman Culina and Ricky Fransen might be the worst two central defenders I’ve witnessed in the NPL squad. Sydney FC were single handedly the better squad today and created more chances to score. They had 16 shots and 9 of them being on target. The Wanderers had 7 shots and only 1 being on target. It seems the squad has some defence issues and issues with anyone trying to score. The loss sees the Wanderers still sitting on 37 points. Marconi played a midweek game thrashing league leaders Rockdale with a humiliating 9-0 loss which saw them elevate from 5th place to 3rd place and making the Wanderers slip down to 5th spot on the ladder. The next game for the Wanderers NPL squad is against Wollongong Wolves at Wanderers Football Park, Rooty Hill on Saturday 29th June, 2024. Kick-off scheduled at 7pm. Expect Football NSW to make the announcement it's behind closed doors on Friday morning.
Bangaverage Posted June 23, 2024 Posted June 23, 2024 They where certainly outplayed today. One team wanted it more. Agree with your comments about the centre backs. They aren’t ready for this level yet, but will be good experience for them. not many of the team held their own out there, especially up front as we lack any real attacking players! Sinnott in goal was good for the most part, Cameron was solid on the right. Hollingdale had a rare bad game. hopefully they can turn it around next week

MathyouWSW Posted June 23, 2024 Posted June 23, 2024 I also forgot to mention congrats to Joseph Banza who's 15 and debuted for the NPL squad. Hope the Wanderers will keep him for the future.
mack Posted June 24, 2024 Author Posted June 24, 2024 The half-season drop has always been a problem. This season we've gone from players 20yo+ who are A-League ready and would have been a chance to win the NPL, to a squad where half of them are 17 years old or younger. EmMac and sonar 2
