I see Zamora scored the goal.

That's 2 seperate winners to get his teams up into the EPL... are there other players who can boast the same thing?

Kevin Phillips. Lost count of the number of times he's promoted teams.

Also congrats Wanderer74, although I didn't want you lot to go up because I missed my short trip to Loftus Road this year due to exams (and consequently missed the flares, police bubble from Shepherds Bush station and extensive knife search) so I wanted another opportunity. Alas, not meant to be. Spend wisely this time round though...

Good call. How many final playoff winners though?

1, by my count (I could be wrong?)

Sunderland, 1997 - scored in the playoff final but they lost

West Brom, 2007 - no score, lost playoff final

Palace, 2013 - scored winner in playoff final

Of course he helped a couple of clubs gain direct promotion as well.

Yeah I was thinking in terms of play-off finals and direct promotions. In terms of play-off finals, I think you're right with Bobby Zamora.

The pain of the weekend more than lingers. It kinda stabs.

Sorry mate, but you know how I felt last year. I stayed for 20 mins to half an hour after the game clapping off the players (who pretty much did eff all that game) but I just couldn't bear to see Palace lift the trophy- I had to leave for the exits at that moment. There were also two ladies near me who were singing Watford songs after the game, which I would've applauded if their voices weren't so ******* annoying. They constantly bleated out-of-tune-and-rhythm chants so much that I really came close to decking them and I wasn't even the only one thinking that. It's little moments like that that truly sum up the **** day

Away Pax

I think it lines up precisely with the link I posted some pages back to the effect; 'biggest clubs outside the premiership'

The cellino era comedy show commences with the hiring of dave hockaday as manager. Hockaday clearly impressed with his mid table finishes at conference side forest green rovers.

No I am not making this up. I wish I was.

Absolutely bizarre decision. Although i think that Cellino may be making a few budget decisions while he sorts out the financial mess that would be plaguing the club.

Bad news

SBS lost the rights to broadcast the FA Cup Final next year. Only Foxtel will broadcast it.

Source?

One of the Sales Managers at SBS told me.

There must have been a change to the anti-siphoning laws (as per above) in Australia for that happen then, as I can't see how that Foxtel could take it under current conditions/law.

Interesting though, let us know of things change at your end!

Update and Apologies

The Sales Manager I was speaking to mixed up different tournaments.

SBS will broadcast the Semi Finals of the FA Cup delayed and then broadcast the FA Cup Final live.

Apologies for the confusion.

Massimo Cellino Axes Keeper Paddy Kenny Over Date of Birth

By Chris Deeley

on 3 Jul 2014

Elland Road is a weird old place these days, and is only getting weirder now that owner Massimo Cellino has taken a fierce dislike to one of the club's key players because of his dislike of the number 17. Paddy Kenny, United's keeper, was born on the 17th of May, and Cellino has reacted to his date of birth by reportedly barring him from going on a pre-season trip with the club and has told manager Dave Hockaday not to pick Kenny in his team, as he will be 'bad luck'. Cellino is so suspicious of the number 17 that he had the seats at his former club, Cagliari, taken out and replaced with 16B. Cellino, who also has a deep distrust of the colour purple, has separate issues about Kenny allegedly being overweight but is said to have reacted emotionally when he found out the 36-year-old goalkeeper had a connection with the number 17. There will also be no player wearing the number 17 at Leeds next season, as the owner has ordered Hockaday not to make it part of the squad list. The previous number 17, Michael Brown, was released in the summer. Cellino completed his takeover of Leeds in April after an appeal against the Football League’s decision to try to block him entry on the grounds he had a previous conviction for fraud.

This is not good at all. Now Leeds Utd will be associated with upheaval and restless supporters.... wait a minute.

Going places, Leeds.

if by 'places' you mean league 1 then yes.

Not too bad down there. Enjoyable watching is to be had. Terracing, bobble pitches a la A-League, and illustrious names.
