The kit designers are having a $*** season this year ... a lot of teams have kits that the fans are not happy with.

it looks abit like something urawa reds would wear. if it was red/black instead of two tones of red, it could do for us as an alternative in the future

I must be in the minority too. I think it looks ok. Very simple and stylish. People will complain about the checkered patterns but I guess it all depends on how you look at it. Who knows though. Maybe in a couple of years I will be sick of it.

Kenny Dalglish rings Alex Ferguson after Man City win the Premier League

it looks like kagawa is getting close to signing for us. imo he is perfect for what we need. brings that drive and bit of class to the team (something i was wishing ando would do, but has been haulted severly with injuries).

i think the quicker we can get this deal sorted and actually signed the better

So Kagawa has signed since that last post.

I personally hate manchester united because I'm just sick of the same team winning almost everything. I can respect them a lot more than the 'buy-a-trophy' teams like Chelsea and Man City though. And from someone who hates them? That kit above looks alright!

I think Kagawa will be a good signing for United. I hadn't really seen much of him play until recently but after seeing him in the German Cup final and the two matched for Japan recently, he should be a good fit into a position United need to fill.

I'd like to see Leighton Baines get picked up in the back line as well since I'm not a huge fan of Rafael plus Ferdinand and Vidic aren't getting younger. It would also be interesting because David Moyes has said that if Baines goes then he'll leave as well. Originally it sounded like Everton might call his bluff but now that Spurs are interested in him as a replacement for Redknapp, it'll be interesting to see how much of a sticking point the Baines deal will be.

Problem with getting Baines is if he is willing to accept that he will be second choice at LB for a season for two.

A young player to challenge could be the way to go, a Jordi Alba or at a stretch an Alaba.

Ferguson has confirmed that United have put in a bid for Robin van Persie here.

RVP and Rooney up front has the potential to be pretty devastating although I wonder how much of it is a legitimate bid and how much is just driving up the price for other interested parties.

Posted

RVP with Rooney sitting behind would be brilliant to see.

HOWEVER, I really don't see how it will work with Kagawa and *potentially* Moura as well as Cleverly, Anderson, Carrick and possibly Fletcher.

RVP/Chicha/Rooney/Welbeck

Young/Nani Valencia/Nani

Kagawa/Anderson/Cleverly/Carrick/Moura/Fletcher

Evra Vidic/Smalling/Evans/Ferdinand/Jones Rafael

De Gea

Just seems a lot of players to fit into 2-3 positions week in-week out.

Plus you can add Scholes and Giggs into that midfield. As long as Fergie can keep everyone happy I'm ok with having so much depth in the squad, especially if they get smashed by injuries like last season.

Posted

Trouble is with all those midfielders, only the 1 is defensively minded who is fit at the moment (Carrick). Throw in that Berba is still around and it becomes an even bigger problem. I'd personally prefer us to pick up another DM (M'Vila).

You'd then play either Welbeck/Rooney/Hernandez up front with either Kagawa/Moura/Rooney in behind with any of Clevs/Ando/Scholes/Giggs supporting deep and Carrick/M'Vila cleaning up behind them.

Posted

Yeah United never really replaced Roy Keane with a solid midfield destroyer to pair up with a creator in the middle. Getting Darren Fletcher back would be nice but the more I read about that the less likely it seems. And with the midfield as stacked with depth as it is right now you'd have to think that Nick Powell is going to be a bit part player.

Also yeah Kraken, Berba's still with United although I'm pretty sure he'll be leaving in this transfer window. Ferguson has said that he'd like him to stay but understands why he wants to leave and if a decent offer comes in he won't stand in his way. If RVP comes (which I'm still not sure how likely that is) or Robert Lewandowski gets signed then I don't see how there can be any room for Berbatov.

Posted

I have always thought Berbatov was better then Wellbeck and Chicharito. I dont think RVP will end up at United, but other then what I read online I have no other sources.

Posted

Well RVP would prefer united and fergie has confirmed they bid on him but still who knows right.

Berba can only leave if someone makes an offer and as yet- nothing.

He's a class player but doesnt suit uniteds style or game pace. Would do well in Italy or perhaps Germany imo.

U only became a city fan wen the money came in , I never seen a city supporter b4 that lol , it's gonna be a long Long time before you have 19 epl titles beside ur name brother , city are jus like Chelsea big money spenders and for what , nothing we took them down too so eat it

The problem with RVP is that Arsenal want big bucks for him and after the season he's just had you can't really blame them. I can't see Fergie blowing the bank on a player who'll be 29 when the season starts. Arsenal apparently want 20 millions pounds, where for an extra 3 million they can buy Lewandowski who's only 23 years old, which sounds much more like a Ferguson-style buy.

I guess it depends how scared Arsenal are to lose him on a free transfer in a year's time.

Posted

What I think will happen is RVP to Juve and Lewan to Spurs since Adebayor isn't working out.

Which will free some cash for Moura from Utd and another young left back since fryers has ****ed off.
