any updates on Jeong or Gersbach being available?

Gersbach can come on as a sub second half to close out the game - our away form has me confident we are ahead at HT.

I think Jeong may be another week to get fitness. Cleur is available if needed for Brisbane. Unclear of Gersbach.

Surely Gersbach can put in 30 minutes. He was a regular starter up to mid November and as a professional athlete I assume he wasn't just sitting on the couch playing FIFA and pounding imported Tim Tams since then.

Ah you know what its like. You stop going gym or your out of the Sunday league team for 2 weeks and all of a sudden you lost the match fitness so it will take some time to get back to your maximum.

Feeling personally attacked!

Gersbach to me shows Staj has given up on the season. There is no point signing someone mid-season if they aren't going to hit the ground running.

If he's given up on the season they should sack him now. His job is to win games of footy

Given that he's a good player, available, not taking up a visa spot, and plays in a position we needed to strengthen, I don't have a problem with signing someone who isn't immediately ready. If not being able to hit the ground running was a deal breaker I'm not sure who else was available.

My issue is he was announced two weeks ago and was a regular starter two months ago. His last game was a 1-0 win on November 11th (he got an assist). Presumably he's been training with the squad up to his transfer. They have a winter break in their season so his last start was the club's last competitive match. They would have a training program to keep them fit without playing matches so he shouldn't be getting here with zero fitness.

The only other LB Aussie that he could have gone for is Brad Smith also in his off season. LB was a weakness that needed to be improved, Gersbach does that. It is what it is.

In saying that Clisby didn't have a bad game against Auckland. He actually stepped up for his milestone game. Hopefully he has few more in him, until Gersbach is fit. Or Staj brings Cluer in immediately and puts Panta on the Left.

Staj is Chengs boy so he has until the end of season at least. You’d think if we cant beat the Roar then old mate is packing his bag

Do we even know if Cheng is the new Chairman? It was never announced.

It was never officially announced. But Cheng is listed as chairman of the Wanderers. The transparency sometimes hahaha.

Long time no post! Been through the ringer in more ways than one, but glad to be back.

Not been the best of seasons so far for WSW, but this is the kind of game we need to take it to them and get some momentum for the rest of the season. We have not been great as said above, but Brisbane has been straight dog **** in comparison.

Don't care how we have to do it, a damn bicycle kick from outside the box will suffice!

We must win.

1-2 to the good guys.

We will always have the strike in the final against Adelaide.

But I hope he loses tomorrow.

i get that Gersbach needs to get up to fitness - but surely he could give 15-20 mins from the bench?

You know when you play on Sunday and you get injured or leave on holiday and then you miss a week of football and come back and play the following week and you are out of breathe after 1 sprint. Yea that's where Gersbach is after 8 week off season. The muscles need to get back into match fitness, playing him now after 11 days of training risks an injury.

Sauce????

IF TRUE:

Panta will switch sides LB>RB, Cluer to to start at RB, Brillante to remain at CB and Mata to start alongside Priestmann UNLESS he drops Kraev or Milanovic for Mata on the wing and plays Al-Taay at CDM with Priestmann.

Personally hoping Borello back in the starting line up and Temelkosvki off the bench. Antonsson its over mate your not good enough.

Suncorp Stadium pitch damaged by Combs concerts before soccer match

ByWilliam Davis

Ground staff are working around the clock to repair turf in time for tonight’s A-League clash at Suncorp Stadium, after it was ripped up during two weekend concerts.

Back-to-back concerts by country singer Luke Combs on Friday and Saturday appeared to have damaged grass around the stage area.

More than half-a-dozen workers could be seen yesterday replacing about 2500 square metres of turf at the Caxton Street end.

Brisbane Roar is scheduled to play the Western Sydney Wanderers tonight from 6.35pm.

“Suncorp Stadium … [is] assuring us that they are confident the field will be up to standard, safe and stable underfoot,” a representative for the club told Brisbane Times.

“Apart from expected aesthetic visual scarring in some areas as a result of the recent concert, there are no other concerns ahead of the match.”

A Suncorp Stadium spokesperson said ground staff had “worked around the clock” to repair the turf and “independent testing will be conducted … to ensure the field meets all safety and playability requirements” prior to the game.

Suncorp Stadium is now allowed to host more concerts, and Combs’ visit required organisers to push back a previously scheduled Roar game to a Tuesday night in April.
