Watching the 30 mins highlights of this morning, how many chances did Boro blow?

A few lol, the real impressive play was at the other end, bodies being thrown at everything.

From the Boro web forum -

The team tonight i haven't seen defending like that since Roukes Drift. :D

Wave after wave Boro repelled.

Had to look that up to see what it rorkes drift was..

That's some serious defending lol,

Where's Ryan Fredericks at?

boro, i don't watch championship because I don't have BeIN (assuming that's where it still is) But I love reading your posts about your journey through this promotion battle. Hope it falls in place for you man.

Bournemouth ended up drawing 2-2, they gave away a penna in injury time. Still above us via superior goal diff though. Eddie Howe and Bournemouth have a severe case of superiority complex. Whinging about not getting a penna of their own when they have had more dodgy decisions in their favor than ESFC! Suck it up guys, a case of karma coming back to bite them I feel, and an almost Arnold-esque post match interview from Howe, is the pressure starting to show on them, hope so.

As for Watford, them winning was never in doubt, they should have won by 4 or 5.

On to next weekend. Watford go to Brighton in the early kick off, Boro go to Fulham and Bournemouth play the Monday game at home to Bolton. My nerves are going to be well and truly shattered by the time this is all over.

I would be gutted to lose the play offs, but it a scenario I have to contemplate unfortunately.

Plenty of live dodgy free streams on the interweb if you are interested in watching championship football. I managed to get a stream for Bournemouth v Sheffield Wednesday yesterday evening, wasn't advertised anywhere, via a link on the Boro forum where they hunt down and share such things  :good:

Might need to check it out next time I'm up at 1am with a sick crying baby.

I will put a link up here for the remaining games, if Mack has no issues with it.

Watford game kicks off 9:30pm next Saturday here I think, then the Boro games follows that,

Boro, what's your thoughts on Patrick Bamford?

He just started negotiating with Chelsea for a new long term contract but do you think he is good enough for the EPL? Do you think he can make the step up from the championship? Do you see him making the similar sort of strides that Kane made when he went from the loans in the lower divisions to becoming the striker with 29 premier league goals he is today?

Yes I was wondering when Chelsea were going to buy another player for their impressive bench.

Or for Vitesse.

Just so you know, he was a Chelsea youth player that has gone through the ranks ;)

He is no Kane, not yet anyway. He looks like an old fashioned number 10 type player rather than a main striker, this describes him quite well - second, or shadow, or support, or auxiliary striker and, in what is in fact a distinct position unto its own, the Number 10

Look at Troy Deeney at Watford who has launched them to promotion, now he is an out and out striker. Bamford is technically gifted around the box with a keen eye which is too good for most championship defenses, but he doesn't muscle around the box like a main striker. He is one of those players that will come up with a vital goal (perhaps as a sub) in the prem rather than score bags full, he will also score the odd spectacular. Yes, I think he WILL make it big in the prem, but not as someone who scores **** loads of goals every season.

As for Middlesbrough SIIIGGGHHHHH, I watched us get beat 4-3 last night and I am reminded of what every Dad tells his Son when he takes him to his first ever Boro game - 'Son Boro will always break your heart'

At times like this you ask yourself the sanity in supporting a club like Middlesbrough. It is because I love the people and the town I guess, similar feeling of togetherness as westies out here I suppose as Middlesbrough and its people always gets bad press in the UK.

I feel deflated this morning and the thought of the play offs fills me with dread, I am not confident at all. Why ohh ******* why can't Middlesbrough or a club I support do things the easy way... just for once! It would be nice!

Leeds managed to beat the wendies which is always nice to put them back in their box.

Just like with wsw I can't wait for the season to be over and done with (although 2 weeks in to the off season I know I will be pining for football to come back!)

Also feel your pain boro.

I am trying to console myself to thinking back to 1988 today, all we needed to do was win or draw the last game of the season at home to a Leicester side in mid table and nothing to play for. We froze, lost 2-0 and finished 3rd on goal difference! There were tears in the stands after that game, we had been through so much as a club, liquidation and so on that it felt like a massive blow.

Our manager at that time was Bruce Rioch, a Boro legend in the same way as Popa, in the after match interview Rioch uttered these immortal words that energized everyone-

'we come in work monday ready, ready to work. and I have myself full confidence that if all do their duty, if nothing is neglected, and if the best arrangements are made, as they are being made, we shall prove ourselves once again able'

Boro need to recapture that mood, everyone backed against us in the play offs that year, especially as the final was against Chelsea home and away.

Got to just finish well against Brighton next weekend and go again!

Fook off !! He's a Forest Youth product whom Chelsea conveniently paid 1m for a couple of years ago on the eve of a Forest v Chelsea FA Youth Cup quarter final where he had been scoring for fun and hence couldn't play for Forest in that game. Admittedly Forest were short of cash at the time.

If you look at it like that, you'd struggle to find many of the top teams would have there own product, how far back do you go to consider them yours or someone else's? How far has the guy developed since he has come to Chelsea over the past 4 years? Had you held on to him for the last 4 years Id imagine you'd get a tidy fee for him.

I think that 10 years at Forest before moving to Chelsea at 19 would qualify him as a Forest Youth product. All Chelsea have really done in the past 3 years is loan him out to various clubs !!

I'm more just referring to youth players these days at big clubs, not just with Chelsea with Bamford. It's very rare these days you'll get a pure one club youth player that has just come through one clubs system & you can claim all the progress as the result of your club. I've noticed this problem to be widespread in terms of players no where near the first team but usually go out & play u21's which I doubt helps as much for there development. It is quite a big problem for the development of the youth of tomorrow in England.

Top effort by Bournemouth...almost went out of the league, survived on the last day then 3 promotions in 6 years. Playing decent football with a good young manager. Don't you just love this game !!

Yes, a very good effort from them, lets not kid ourselves though by the rags to riches story, they have been bank rolled by some serious Russian cash and are not that forthcoming with how that money is made due to it being an 'invisible' Russian billionaire.

Also Arry Redknapp is linked to the club and I loath that ****, I also hate how the refs have constantly given them every penalty they go up for this season, the ESFC of the championship. I wish them all the best, great to see a club like Bournemouth go up but it is a fairy tale story with a more predictable reality behind the scenes. But take nothing away from Howe and his players, they got the job done, which is more than can be said of Middlesbrough

I can see a Leeds type situation happening at Bournemouth in the next 4 or 5 years with their Russian mafia money.

They were saying it was worth a total of 260m to get promoted to the EPL, some incredible money on offer!! 100% agree on Redknapp, wish this guy would just retire, but the media love him too much! Very interesting about the Russian money being pumped into the club, will be interesting to see which way they go next year in regards to the owners. Some teams towards of the bottom of the EPL 17-14 have been underperformaning for quite some time so every chance they could make an impact next year!

Their rise has been remarkable given that plenty of other Championship clubs have been 'splashing the cash' either from parachute payments or other 'investments' and have flattered to deceive. I should know.....Forest are one of them !!
