yeah, it makes sense.

is the main reason behind Perth not being an option the cost / travel time ?

i did Perth away last year and there ended up being about 15 others, and it was an amazing trip

The only logical choice in my opinion is Melbourne Heart, Saturday 12 of April. This is because the fixture has to be in Melbourne so that the people who have already booked there flights and accomodation for MV in February can change there flights and accomodation at hopefully a minimal cost.

One thing I am curious about is how many WSW supporters we have that live in different cities? I know there was one guy on here from Brisbane, and hawks2767 is based in Perth. Would there be any in Melbourne? Would be good if we could build huge support bases of people that live in different cities. That way we would always have good away support no matter what. I suppose that would come over time and also through having a lot of success.

There was a thread ages ago that was calling out all Perth Wanderers fans... it lasted around 4 posts and it was just full of lulz.

But in saying that, I think if there were WSW fans around Australia, I'm hoping they would be cheering on regardless!

28th December - $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I got that in the original post mate!

Posted

28 Dec = $$$$$$ no matter what you want to do...

Does that mean everybody in the west locks themself in the house and doesnt go away as it will cost $$$$$. Seriously!!!

imo, last round is too late in the season.

Party atmosphere. Besides, I've gone through the fixtures list a dosen times for my own travel aspirations, and there aren't many interstate away trips that are appealing. For example, the first Heart away is a Friday night, as is the only Brisbane away, while Wellington away is on a Sunday.

This, last round ticks most boxes, it's on a saturday, a good space from the other TOD, changing flights accommodation made for the victory trip will be easier, and also gives 6 months for more people to plan and get on board...

FP yes everything is more expensive on the 28th, but most people would already have a break/ family hols already planned, and combine that with xmas costs and new years and other festive crap, adding this trip become near impossible for most

Sorry if I missed it guys but is Perth an option? Cost comes into play here I guess.

Otherwise agree MH looks like the best option. What is attractive here is that we could turn it into our own home game!

There are some decent prices on flights to Perth atm..

but MH is most logical.

The problem is, yes it is during the holiday period, but the killer is the Boxing Day Ashes Test in Melbourne, meaning there will be thousands more people (particularly Poms) in the city pushing up prices for flights and accommodation. There is a heavy premium on bookings during this period, and a portion of reasonably priced accommodation has already been booked by cricket fans.

Plus, as previously mentioned, a lot of people are away for the Christmas/New Years period with family and friends.

Plus, 28th December.... think of all of us with kids etc. Christmas for me is always busy. Alternate Christmas lunch with either my family or the inlaws, then a day or 2 later we have Christmas lunch with the other family. Kids wanting to play with their new gear, wife insist that we have to get away for a week or so. 28th December is just soooooo impractical.

agree i think its unanimous that heart away is logically the best fit to compensate the vast majority

What gets me is that everyone whinged the core isn't transparents and doesn't go to the greater rbb for decision making and etc, and in this important topic, it has had nearly 300 views but only 15-16 different people have responded in it.

Hear, hear... I completely agree.

In all fairness; I've personally viewed it 270 times.

But I agree.... there's a few people that are conspicuous by their absence.

Here's to the MHFC vs WSWFC tour of super happy fun times duty

MH Last round makes sense, most of us wanted to do MH anyways, maybe we can make a chant dissing MVFC for the screw up while we are at it :D

Just called up Jetstar asking how much a re-book would be (for those who price matched with Tiger, like me)

And the total apparently is $200 something

Might as well buy new flights for the Heart game.

Thing I love about final round is it will either:

a) Give the boys a massive boost going into the finals, which will hopefully give them some momentum, or

b) Just in case we don't make the finals (everyone reckons we're certain, but you never know), it will be the biggest party of the year to end the season

Posted

Heart makes sense... after last year, would love it if those green seats are filled with WSW fans...

Although still waiting for the day we invade NZ :)
