  • Exclusive First Look at New Parramatta Stadium Screen

    mack
    • WestSydneyFootball.com agents infiltrated Parramatta Stadium to take the first pictures of the new big screen.

The new screen faces the RBB bay, giving the supporters group the ability to watch replays without having to turn around to watch a screen obscured by advertising.

Our Agent, @abbadabba, spoke with the construction workers of the new screen and was told it should be up and running by the the first match of the season vs Central Coast. I would also like to thank @Taurus for his role in gathering the information.

I'm very impressed. Well positioned and large. I'm so glad the screen seems to be edge to edge, I was afraid it would be bordered by advertising or otherwise wasted space.

Only possible concern is the elevation from pitch level, it looks as though it could be quite distracting or in a bad position for the keeper facing it. The last picture shows what I'm referring to, where the bottom of the screen isn't much higher than the top of where the goals would be.

There's one more pic I sent Mack which is from the RBB bay but zoomed in. I think it will allay your fears as from that pic it looks like the top of the goals will only look as high as the bay then there are the ad boards then some clear space before the black screen starts. Mack if you got it and can load i would be much obliged.

maybe we can use this to our advantage. when the ball goes in the air to the opposing keeper, have a video of lots of balls going across the screen.

this is great news, just wondering who funded this? and does this permenantly replace the former scoreboard which i think was down the southern end

It may be of use to the Eels fans too. I'm stoked our club is still listening. Thanks, Lyall - or whomever!

Maybe the fact that we have committed to have all 13 home games there made them build this new screen.

It's amazing that by sticking to his guns and having all games at Parra, Gorman has caused the stadium to be improved.

Hopefully, if we pack out Parra every week, an expansion to 30,000 will be on the cards.

With the 2015 Asian Cup on zee horizon, anything appears possibly.

But we also have to justify the expansion. Having a 10k average wont justify it. Having quite a few sellouts a season and other games nearing a sellout will justify the expansion

Newcastle game is not a home game. It's at C-town but it is a community round game

Yes, this angle shows it much better, there's quite a lot of clearance. Excellent reconnaissance work!

Absolutely can't wait to see this in action...
