Would you expect the Labor Socialist Peoples State of Victoria to admit there were arsonists ! Yes right.

Like there is no African gangs in Victoria. And of course there are no looters either. It's all Scott Morrison.

Labor never lie , except for NSW ?. Obeid jailed , Chinese money in Aldi bags.etc , etc. No the Left are as pure as the driven snow and don't lie.

Wake up to yourself.

You are starting to sound a bit deranged

I can’t be bothered pointing out how flawed your logic is

That is what I am looking at. What kind of forward planning and preventative measures would assist when you get an extreme event like the one the Indian Ocean threw at us. What measures are the government guilty of over the last 12 months?

More burning off,  this kind of approach - https://www.creativespirits.info/aboriginalculture/land/aboriginal-fire-management

Lots of anger here but interested in how we prepare and what the government should be doing.

Note the date: April 2019. The PM had explicit, unambiguous warning, he had experts telling him we weren’t prepared and he had solutions if he wanted to listen.

Thanks Cynth!

This.

THIS!!!!!

I imagine this is mainly why firefighters told him to "**** off", told him down "STAND DOWN NOW", refused to shake his hand....

THIS  is where he turned his back on the desperate and pressing interests of this country, and focused on ****, like the Israel Folau crap.

And our country has been ravaged as a result....all predicted for decades, not only by "greenies" but by economists like Garnaut.

And then, when he finally wakes up, months too late, he thinks he can fix it with a pathetic cash splash set to a self serving maketing jingle.

PS Smoggy, this unforgivable misstep of his got a lot of publicity a few weeks back, but perhaps you were on your travels and weren't watching the News so much?

**** I hate that line about "what did you want him to do that could have stopped this".

Yeah, well, as others have pointed out, the advice has been there for a long time, so, that would have been nice to you know, actually listen to the people who know about this **** rather than some ******* advertising exec or landed gentry having a guess about it all the ****ers.

Thing is, it's not about trying to have stopped just this (this being the worst natural disaster in the recorded history of this continent). It's about trying to stop this happening AGAIN. Which means a leader coming out and saying, "look, this is really bad. Here is the support we are  going to give RIGHT NOW to try and assist people and organisations to head off as much as we can. And here is what we will be doing afterwards to start looking at preventing this kind of thing continuing to happen."

Not hard, you'd think.

Do you sense anger in your community, against a govt/PM who hasn't heeded warnings, and has provided far too little, FAR  too late, Marron?

Uh, yeah, but then again this polling booth was the leftiest of lefty in the lefty blue mountains, so that's to be expected. Plus lots of people up here involved in national parks etc (including someone I know who lost their job in the funding cuts, one of the things they used to do regularly was fire management stuff....)

Makes sense - thanks Marron.

Yes, it worked to reduce Australia's emission.

We were playing our part, in good faith.

Which is all we can do.

Thanking Mr Abbott for not subjecting us to a pointless tax scheme.

Yeah what a great idea.....let the people who emit emissions pay nothing and let the taxpayers foot the bill.....

Geez

How corrupt can you get lol

I love the last line Morrison claims all projects where eligible. I honestly don’t doubt they where but if it is a competitive process the majority of submissions would have been eligible (that’s just the ticket to enter really, what is in doubt is where the best and most worthy entries selected by a transparent process, which they weren’t.

Having worked in government where you have to have a transparent process to purchase anything, it’s amazing that they can hand out such large sums with no transparency

^^^And how they are responding to the questions about process, legitimacy, transparency is the usual ScumMo.

Dont answer.

From Michaelia Cash this morning, when the issue was raised...

"All the projects have brought great benefit to their communities."

Yes, of course they have! But that wasn't what you were asked.

Appalling leadership is stated by a former firefighting professional

I tried to warn Scott Morrison about the bushfire disaster. Adapting to climate change isn’t enough https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/jan/20/i-tried-to-warn-scott-morrison-about-the-bushfire-disaster-adapting-to-climate-change-isnt-enough?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Copy_to_clipboard
