I went today and sat in seats all round the stadium in the lower bowl and in some elevated positions in the stands.

Some of my thoughts on the stadium are:

- all the seats in the stadium are quite a distance from football pitch except the seats near and around the corner posts at the RBB end of stadium.

- you can walk right around the stadium by walking around the lower bowl concourse. There are plenty of toilets and bar areas in the stadium.

- food prices in the couple of outlets open today is typical of stadiums in Australia.

- the seating in the stands give a better overall view of the entire pitch even though it's at a distance.

- there are three or four types of seat, in the stadium, mainly the school chair seat type in Prydzopolis above tweet, there is fold down seating used in first few rows in the lower bowl closest to the fence. In one of the photos Prydzopolis posted above you can see a difference in the coloring of the seats, the slightly darker red rows is fold down seating.

The corporate seating areas in the lower stands has different seats and the disabled seating row around the lower bowl is the fold down type.

- the stands are quite steep and might be a worry for people with issues with vertigo or are unsteady on their feet. The aisles in the stands are quite narrow and the distance between some of the rows in the stands is quite small.

If you don't like to climb past people already seated in the stands, a suggestion to get there early because getting past legs of people already seated will be a delicate task in some rows from what I saw today.

Overall as a stadium holding football matches, it's a great AFL / cricket ground. I am glad it's only temporary.

Agree with what FC says above re the alignment of the pitch and how well it works for those of us who will be down the lower parts of the RBB end of the stadium aisle. The manner in which the field looks to be skewed towards that end, as well as the western stand side makes these areas probably as optimal as they can be considering the fact we are temporary tenants of a place where eggball and tent pegging is more often the sport on display.

The northern end in terms of seating and proximity to the pitch is pretty bad, and as can be seen from this vantage point the video screen needs binos. 

All up, it is what it is. not the best, but could be worse (hello Belmore, SCG, Allianz lol)

i must admit my journey to the top row did get difficult as i do have a fear of heights so the steepness was a bit of a challenge i think most other people should be fine though its a lot steeper than parramatta which imo is a very good thing

yes agree with those, for some reason i felt a bit of vertigo when moving up to the top tier, without doubt its much steeper than it was at parramatta higher in the the stadiums. and yes the best seats are in the corners down the lower tier, especially near the rbb where the corner post crew will be almost equal distance as they were at parramatta stadium.

Someone at the club has to ask questions to FFA about this.

The derby should have been week 2 or 3....not the week after the GF.
