Wanderers Player Weekend Community Engagement

The Western Sydney Wanderers have announced a series of player engagements at various Western Sydney community events over the coming weekend.

 

The details are as follows:

 

Saturday 25th August:

Blacktown Association Grand Final Day to be held at Blacktown Football Park:

9am to 11am - Labinot Haliti and Shannon Cole.

 

Nepean Association Grand Final Day to be held at Jamison Park in Penrith:

9am to 11am - Tahj Minniecon,

 

Football United Tribal Warrior Exhibition at the National Centre for Indigenous Excellence in Redfern:

11am to 1pm - Kwabena Appiah-Kubi & Jason Trifiro.

 

Blacktown Sportsfest at the Blacktown International Sports Park in Rooty Hill:

12pm to 2pm - Jerrard Tyson & Mark Bridge.

2pm to 4pm - Dino Kresinger, Mateo Poljak & Jerome Polenz.

 

King's Spring Festival at the King's School in Parramatta:

1:30pm to 2:30pm - Aaron Mooy & Michael Beauchamp

 

Sunday 26th August:

Nepean Association Grand Final Day to be held at Jamison Park in Penrith:

9am to 11am - Zac Elrich & Daniel Barac

 

Granville Association Awards Presentation at the Commercial Road Playing Fields in Rouse Hill:

10am to 12pm - Jakob Williams & Yiannis Perkatis

 

South West Wanderers Presentation Evening at Jamison Park in Penrith

6:30pm to 8:30pm - Zac Elrich

Absolutely. It may even work if they assigned 1-2 players to engage with each of the Western Sydney Associations (I think there's 10-12?? someone can correct me here) throughout the year....

I find it odd that Tahj Minniecon isn't going to Redfern. That is a specific indigenous event, iirc he's the only person of indigenous descent in the squad.

In the last fortnight, I've witnessed club executives and players in attendance at the S.D.S.F.A. Girls / Ladies Grand Finals at Ireland Park and the Division 2 and below Boys and All Age Mens Grand Finals at Moorebank.

 

BTW Did anyone else notice the names of some of the 'uncontracted' players who are attending the community engagement events this weekend.

Noticed Jakob Williams played the full 90 minutes against Sydney United, and his photograph was in the Daily Telegraph on the day after.

yeah awesome news. Didn't see them down at Birrong when my AA4 Bankstown Dragons team defeated Panania RSL 2-1 in our third grand final win in as many years, but it's good to see they were out and about!
