Description: A flying winger who will be looking to create chances and score them as part of the Wanderers attacking setup. He worked exceptionally hard to impress Tony Popovic enough to earn a contract for the first season, and an extension despite a long injury that kept him out for almost the entire 2012/13 season. Repeated injuries in 2013/14 lead to his release at the end of the season.

I think he is a decent player. Just sometimes tends to look a little clumsy. I would rate him above Appiah at this stage. He does cause a lot of defences problems.

Best thing about tonight re Tahj was Popa deployed him for the right purpose and right amount of game time. Tahj and D'Apuzzo looked better going forward as a combo than D'Apuzzo and Bridge have recently, but then again that may be because the Marinators were shite on either flank.

He looked to play a lot smarter in possession, instead of trying to take on multiple opponents he'd turn back and recycle possession. Our second goal was helped by a decision like that, deep on the left wing, Tahj was facing two opponents and shaped for a moment to try and beat them on the outside. Instead of trying to take them on he stopped and turned the ball back to D'Apuzzo and another 15 passes later we scored.

5 minutes into 2nd half d'apuzzo delays a pass and tahj gets caught offside with his mistimed run , popa gives him a real serve and 2 minutes later kubi told to warm up.

Brilliant performance from tahj. Was sorely missed in the Wellington game imo. Have not seen him on the list for this weekends derby. Is he injured?

Anyone know when Tahj picked up another injury? Ins and outs for this week say he has an "indefinite" ankle injury. I know that these probably aren't worth the paper that they are written on, but has anyone heard anything?

So according to the official facebook page Minniecon has a hip injury and he has been replaced by Mebrahtu in the A-League squad.

Tahj is out of the squad, injury is at least 6 weeks, which could mean he'd miss every game until a Semi-Final. Probably won't feature again.

I'd guess it'll be the end of his career as a Wanderer, maybe even in the A-League itself. Too many injuries, no impact, even at youth league level from the multiple games I saw him play, he's had 6 years with 1 A-League goal.

Ahhh that's a shame!! Really thought he looked good in the brief spells he had on the pitch and looked better than kubi, but that's just me! Think he is still good enough to be apart of the squad if he will accept a pay cut for his bit part role in the squad!

Maybe they can re-sign him on a lower wage, perhaps? He seems to be more potent down the left than Bridge, I find.

Link to comment

Who says he's not on minimum wage right now? He was on a last chance with WSW in S1, and the club took another chance on him re-signing for this season even though he was hurt.

Well, with Golgol out for a year perhaps, could Tahj get yet another final season chance if he overcomes his injury before the final series?

It'd be interesting that Golgol was Tahj's injury replacement, but next season it could be Tahj who is Golgol's injury replacement.

You never know, however, Tahj was in a similar situation last season with him being out until the semis and the club give him another chance.

Could be the same again for next year.

So if Golgol is an injury replacement for Tahj and Tahj is injury replacement for Golgol, we can sign another player since they're both injury replacements. Unlimited squad depth here we come.

Thought he was a natural to take over from Hersi. Injury prone, but those few runs he got this season showed he is still one of the most dangerous players around and surely he's not taking up much of the cap.

Really? No disrespect to him nor any of us who thought he was good, but I never really rated him.

Lots of potential ruined by injuries. Sad story of many a player.

Yep...had his moments but just too brittle. Hate to say it but he's always seemed a little surplus to requirements...would actually have preferred Rocky Visconte to be still in the squad now than Tahj.

Still doesn't make his (assumed) release a happy moment. Bit by bit the originals are moving on and out of the house that Popa. Lyall & the RBB built
