    RBB Roxy Hotel Announcement

    Dear Wanderers Family,

It is with great pleasure that we officially announce the Roxy Hotel as the newest and latest home of the Wanderers family & RBB.

This deal is one for the future of our fans, securing a sizable venue to hold over 2000 people for all home and away fixtures.

Our official launch and welcoming will take place on Sunday October 20 prior to the opening home game of the season against the Wellington Phoenix, with the venue opening up at Midday to accommodate our first home match of the year.

The RBB atmosphere will be at its loudest as the Wanderers take over the courtyard and inside seating area of the Roxy Hotel for all home games (including midweek ACL games).

The RBB would like to welcome the Roxy Hotel on board to the Wanderers and RBB Family.

We look forward to seeing you, your family and friends on October 20.

For more detail on the discussions leading up to this decision please visit this thread.

Did the Roxy end up doing that "first 200 schooners of Toohey's New are free" thing?

Yeah I think that's a bit of a myth, there's been a few gamedays where we've been one of the first people to rock up and we've been given jack ****

i think they had to can that idea because it may have been illegal

Free sausages or free beer. Abuse of either could damage one's health.

I've managed to consume 12 beers in one sitting without throwing up on several occasions. I once tried to do the same with sausage sandwiches, I only managed seven.

Now you tell me which is worse for your health

I tell you what, I have gone to the Roxy a few times, and it is still a massive dive and crap hole im afraid, I wish a decent and accommodating venue existed that we could all attend pre game, but the Roxy falls way short im sorry to say...what choice do we have ..none I guess, and this is no reflection of the boys who work hard behind the scenes organising what they can, its just a poor venue really.

At my local, $3 schooners on Saturdays from 10am to 6pm....then walk to Wanderland or Woolie in 10-12mins. If you look hard enough there are quite a few alternatives you may like...Hint* walk through Parramatta Park watch out for the big ducks... :ninja:

i dont remember it though maybe my memory is going in my old age, it was a great amount of people at the woolpack, not too packed like last year but not too few people either

I had a ball at the Woolpack on Sunday, walked in grabbed a beer and a sausage sanga from the bar, walked outside and next minute I'm in a conversation with people I've never met before.

Mind you the conversation usually starts with "Where did you get that sausage sandwich from?"

Yep, the Woolie then the Bavarian on the way to Wanderland will do me nicely from here on out.

Gives you an idea of pub crawl to Wanderland

It is a pub crawl. A short one but it's still a crawl haha

If people were going to go on a so called "Pub Crawl" where should it start and finish'?

Could we also have a 1/2 crawl?..so folk can still manage to attend and see the game?

RSL before the Bavarian, because it's easier to go from the woolpack to the RSL and then the Bavarian Edited by Nnnnnathan12

    • I'm wondering how many of the unhappy players will be happier now knowing a new coach is incoming?
    • I may be wrong here ( it wouldn't be the first time ) but I think with the family problems facing Rudan, Lederer and Rudan had a chat and decided it was in everyones interest that it was better if Rudan concentrated on those family matters first and foremost, so he ( Lederer ) most probably has a replacement all ready to go. Clear the decks with Rudan then announce the new manager. I hope it's Montgomery.....we'll have to wait and see I guess.
    • Its definitely a tough choice. He's a chronically poor decision maker (though this was a great decision. Early, decisive - gives a competent manager lots of time) but he's financially stable in a time when some clubs are struggling badly. Especially with the TV money going down from 3m to 1.5m next season, we need he moolah   My worry is he will bring Kisnorbo to the club, and that might cause even more disgruntled players to bugger off
